Anyone using or see any problem with using wireless video linked to a laptop during open house as a theft deterent / agent security? I was thinking about building an 8 unit wireless camera system covering eight rooms linked to my laptop which would display them and have the laptop there where customers sign in. There is no audio though so customers could talk freely.

Considering the costs involved in setting up a true on-the-fly video/audio cam system (I have done so in the past numerous times for some adult websites my company helped build), I don't think it would be cost effective.

I think, as a deterrent, it would be best to simply put on a pony show. Make the people think they are on cam which is being transmitted back to a server in your brokers office. A great tool for quick wireless audio and video is the x10 cameras at http://www.x10.com . Once you get familiar with the tech, you can be up and running with maybe 5 minutes per camera max.
