I am waiting for my license to come in, so I am a newbie. I want to send out an introduction letter to friends and acquaintances, and another one to the resisdents of the area I live in. Do you know of any good places where I can find a letter? Does anybody have a sample they could link me to?

I have no idea where to start, please help.

Stacie

I'm not a fan of the intro letter, I just got started with normal marketing.

Brian Buffini's referral program provides some good letters, as do Geeroy. CRS Store has some letter-writing software, most of which include a letter that you give to your SOI. I didn't do one, but recommend it since you need to start gathering their support. You need to follow up with a notecard and a phone call.

Congrats on your new license, Stacie. Welcome to this crazy fun business.

When it comes to intro letters, be careful. Think about it...

"Hi, I'm a brand new dentist. I'm just starting out and I'm looking for new patients!"

Would you go? I didn't think so. Me neither.

Plus, just because somebody is a friend doesn't mean they would trust you with the sale (or a purchase) of their house, right?

So, when you think direct mail - think "benefits". You, I and everybody else gets tons of mail. And what do we all do with most of it? Yep, trash. So to make it really work, send useful, helpful and interesting stuff to people.

Make it about THEM. Make it about the market. Offer tips, advice, interesting facts, and helpful info. And the business will follow naturally.

Hope this helps.

BTW, if you want a little trick to have more of your mail opened check out this short video:

yeah, totally agree with Borino. don't use the "i'm new, let me bungle your transaction" letter!

Congratulations Stacie and welcome to the roller coaster fun ride smile

While I agree with most sentiments here, I think an intro letter is fine.

I would however create a few different versions:

1. For your SOI (sphere of influence), friends and family. This letter I believe is fine to tell them you are starting a new career. Let them know you need their assistance and can help them.

2. Farm area - This one be careful and avoid coming across as too "green". Focus on your strengths rather then your "newness". Example: I am an aggressive marketing agent, I am diligent in providing the finest customer service etc.

3. Acquaintances - Again be careful as in number 2 above. Highlight your personality strengths etc.

One thing I would suggest is don't forget to ask for their business in your letters. This is an often omitted technique left out by new agents.

Best of luck

Dang, I guess I'm the only one that has noticed that this thread is 3 years old. Stacie V is probably working on a crab boat somewhere. BigC

And did you notice who revived it? The guy who just happens to have a video about just this sorta thing and is selling a system. No offense Borino. It is a good idea to revive the thread. Especially for you.
