I have 2 pc's that used to be able to share my Internet connection at the same time by connecting them to a router. Then all of a sudden, only one will work at a time. Does anyone know what it might be or what I could try?

Reset your router. Assuming you use IE, go to your tools/options/connections/lan settings, and make sure your on auto detect. In your start/run, run winipcfg, release and then renew your connection on both machines.

What is your connection type? (Cable, DSL, Dial Up)

What operating system is on each PC?

My ISP is Verizon. DSL
My PC's use XP and Win '98.
My hub is an Edgepoint autosensing hub. How do I reset it - There's only 1 button that goes in and out labeled "midi/midix". I've tryed unpluging and restarting everything.
On the win 98 pc, I can't renew the adapter. It gives an error: DHCP Server unavailable - renewing adapter"".

Does the 98 computer connect at all?

Try typing ipconfig into a dos prompt and see if it shows your isp info and an IP address.

I do not have education in computers other than books. I have not expirimented with networking with a HUB but I know it is tricky.

Why did you get a HUB instead of a switch or router? Might solve your problems.

that happens to me quite often, i just mess around with the router

take off the power cable/supply from the router for 30 seconds, put it back on and wait for 10 secs... that does it many a times!
