Brainstorming on a few different ways for presenting a listing presentation for clients, I came across Microsoft Powerpoint . I am curious to know if anyone has set their laptop on the kitchen table and shown clients a powerpoint presentation on how they will presenting their home in MLS, and other sources and how they will be marketing their home for sale ?

Yes, I use Powerpoint on a laptop to give listing presentations. Just like you pictured it -- on the kitchen table with clients.

At the end, I transition over to CMA discussion with price talk. I stay on the laptop to give them their net sheet. I print out the net sheet for them on my mobile printer.

My contracts are also on the laptop. But I preprinted all the necessary contracts, leaving out prices and terms that I just pencil in. It's faster this way than printing from my mobile printer.

I haven't done it yet, but I'm planning to embed video clips in the Powerpoint presentation with prior clients being interviewed as referrals. Maybe also some video clips of me and my staff at the office doing work.

I love Powerpoint.

I have a remote Powerpoint pointer that connects to a USB port so you can control the slide slow from a distance. So you don't have to be perched on keyboard and can walk around. It's great! \:\)

I was thinking about hooking up a larger screen to really give an impact, wow presentation. But that's too many things to transport.

Lula, what brand of mobile printer do you use? If you don't mind, what did it cost? I am looking in to these and wonder if you can advise on any to avoid or definitely consider.

Thanks!

For what its worth, I use my laptop for everything, except listing presentations. If you want to take more listings, stop presenting and start listening. Ask questions, find out what is important them, start building an honest relationship.

Take this approach and not only will you take more listings, but your commission will be much less of an issue.

I do however bring my laptop on listing presentations with a wireless card to handle the “what about that house that sold for....) that of course was not in my cma since it was nothing like their house! I find it much more effective just to show them the listing than to try and prove them wrong.

Try not to do a listing presentation as a "sales pitch" about you, and make it about them. Here's what we do:

As soon as the appointment is made (usually a few days down the road), we overnight or have someone personally drop off a "sales package". This is the "sales pitch" about us and does include a CD of our power point presentation and a very nice bound presentation about who we are, what we do, what we do for them, and why they should use us (RE/MAX). They can read over this material at their convenience before our appointment.

Then when it's time for the appointment, the meeting is all about them, how much they will make, what the houses in the area are selling for, and how the current market conditions will effect them. It's all about them... We don't bring a lap top with us, and this usually works to our benefit because we have to get back to them with some information; what that house sold for, why we didn't include it, who bought what years ago...

I got my first listing after having given an awesome powerpoint presentation. I and the seller were both awed. A colorful, exciting powerpoint presention can be a great tool as I found out. I did not have to say too much since the powerpoint presentation said it all in wonderful wording and colorful pictures, and graphs. I am always open to ways to improve a powerpoint presentation.

Well I'm curious to see an example of a powerpoint, such as the one you put on those cds'. That would totally make my day being able to view an example of these extremely artistic presentationsyou make on powerpoint for your clients. Thanks. \:\)

Plus what is your success rate in getting the listing? (If you don't mind my asking)

No sample of any Powerpoint presentations.. Hmmm.. Well I would be more than happy to put one up as soon as I make one, which will be real soon I hope. But a sample wouldn't hurt to watch.

Sorry, I hadn't visited this thread in some time.

My mobile printer is a Canon i80. I bought it for around (I think) $250 a few months ago.

I will be working on a Power Point Presentation and will let you all know how my listing presentation goes. With that said does have a template they would like to share, I am merely trying to get some ideas for a template. I have my own listing presentation just haven't put it all in Power Point.
I would be interested to here about closing ratios using PP.
Thanks!
