Hey hows it going. I'm 18 years old and live in Orange County California. Currently I'm in the process of getting my real estate license through an online school.
This fall I'm going to enroll in a Junior College then transfer to a 4 year after that to save money. I was wondering what should I major in that would incorporate with being a real estate agent. I was thinking maybe business degree or marketing but, not really sure. Any help would be awesome thanks.

Tommy,
You might want to check around and see if there's a college that offers a Business degree with a major in real estate. I know there are a couple in Florida and there's got to be a few in CA.

A Major in Marketing, communication, accounting would be helpful also. It's a good idea that you are getting your license now. You will get a jump on that. Then maybe you can get a job while in school as an assistant or if you think your ready become an agent.

The thing about college majors is that no one actually uses them, unless it's something technical like engineering. I can count on one hand the people I know that actually work in the field they majored in. A bachelor's degree really just demonstrates your ability to commit to something and follow through to the end - that's what employers get out of it.
So, while it's good you are thinking about the implications of your choices, don't let them box you in. Just about any major could help you in real estate - math, geology, hydrology, psychology, sociology, agribusiness, English, marketing, accounting, a foreign language, international business, etc.

Thanks everyone for all the fast responses I appreciate it a lot. Artiste I already do bartending sort of. I work at starbucks haha. That's perfect Perky what you said about being able to shoot photos. A hobby of mine is photography (Www.TommyJphoto.com)I got that part of it covered haha. A grammar course would definitely help though.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
