You have to understand that the selection of a cell phone/pda is a very personal thing as well as somewhat dependent upon your carrier..
As not all carriers support all phone/pda's.. So check with your carrier to see which ones they support and then find the one that offers the things that you would like to find... And the one that you personally like the best...
Good Luck and Good Finding..

Most cell phones have a port on the bottom of them for connecting a data cable... Look at your manufacturer's website for the cable. I use a Nokia 6800 texting phone, which unfolds to reveal a thumb board. Of course, it also has an infrared port on the side which will link with my laptop...
The 6800 will keep about 500 contacts, a large schedule, and is capable of receiving e-mail.
Personally, I would like to upgrade to a pocket PC phone edition, like the IPAQ, because it will run Excel, Outlook, Word, and Adobe Acrobat, and with the wireless ethernet feature I could print directly from it. But, with a $500 price tag for the celular version, and the fact that I already have a notebook computer to handle most of those functions, the Nokia 6800 works for me.

I HOPE THIS POSTS IN THE CORRECT PLACE. If you haven't already, try www.amazon.com. Once in, go to search box and type in product you are looking for (digcam, printer, cell phone, PDA, etc.) Up pops lots of pictures with info galore. Click on each picture/product you are interested in and pull up lots of info on it, including Customer Feedback. This is where you find out stuff like: lightweight paper warps in the printer because printer has no fan, printer box does not include USB cable, PDA screen is hard to see on bright day...those kinds of hints that we may overlook or not think about until we get home with the product. I have bought products in the past and then found out that, for $??? more, I could have had the top of the line model. Maybe the store didn't carry the better model or the salesman was new. Either way, I have to keep something I'm not happy with or spend time switching it. Amazon sends us into the stores prepared, or you can just buy online. Great site for comparison. You can use it if you don't already have a favorite purchasing site or magazine. Hope this helps.

I love my Samsung SP-i600. Small, compact, and has a clamshell design (so the screen stays protected).
My personal preference in a phone is something that can actually fit into my pocket without looking like a weapon. The Treo seems to be huge and clumsy, IMO.

Nothing begins to compare with the Treo 650. I can't imagine doing business without it.

Hello All,
I use the Samsung Pocket PC Smart Phone with Verizon. I'm very pleased with it. The following are a few of it's features:
* PDA- Identical to the Compac Ipaq (my old PDA) * Phone - Crazy features! (My favorite is speaker) * Email - All of my emails hit here real time. * Unlimited Internet - My favorite feature. * Camera - It's ok (I always use my digital) * Bluetooth Card - Great upgrade. * Extended Life Batteries - I have 4. (Juice hogs)
This is my full time office on the go. It fits in my hand and goes everywhere with me. I have to admit that I felt a little IT over the top when I was vacationing in St. Thomas with this machine. Fortunately or unfortunately, I quickly discovered that my email & internet wasnt working outside of the Wyndham. My verizon wireless internet doesnt work in the US Virgin Islands, but the bluetooth kept me on top of emails (to my wife's dismay) throughout at hotspots.
I guess the good piece there is that Meghan's Bay is too beautiful to worry about business.
Sincerely,
Carter
P.S. - My wife said the phone stays with my partner next time. Oh well!

dose any one know if thr treo 650 will act as an ekey with the supra ekey systems? I know supra resells the zire 31 as a pda & ekey in one but I also want the phone feature and the other stuff the 650 has. They all operate on the palm os sys. so it seems the treo has the higher version and should run the older versions programs also but I wanted to ask here if anyone knows. And by the way I got a blackberry and loved it until I found out that it dose not have this feature and due to a lawsuit that the makers of blackberry are in new software and upgrades will be stalled for awhile so it may not have this feature as soon as I hoped.

The HP iPAQ 6315 is highly recommended. It has all the features needed for agents on the go.

I like the Blackberry, but currently use it only for email. If I wasn't stuck in my Sprint contract, I'd probably move to Cingular so I can use the Blackberry as a phone. Their customer service has been great so far.

I also have a Treo 650 and agre that it's great. Use an earbud/microphone and you can talk and be on the phone at the same time. Replacable batteries are a big improvement over treo 600.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
