I signed up with a few in February & I am not getting much work. I am signing up with others, my husband says I signed up too late, which could be true. There must be many signed up in my area, Miami, imagine that...Any suggestions? I will continue to sign up.

I can't tell you how many I am signed up with, but I regularly get work from 10-15 companies, with 10-15 more making appearances in my queue every couple of months.

A rough estimate is that for every 20 you sign up for, one might accept you and send you work - especially if you are not too experienced in BPOs/REOs, and many are beginning to require being licensed 2-3 years before applying.

Do the math as to how many you need to apply with...

The more you've signed with, the better your chance to get more work. Also, keep in mind that some companies take up to 6 months to approve your application (I waited for 7 months to be approved with PCV Murcor and 3 months with AVM). Others took up to 3 weeks. I receive orders from 14 companies, 4 of them send me orders on daily basis.

TB is right about 2-3 years of being licensed.

Sign up with as many as you can find on an internet search and if you end up with to much activity, ignore some of the open to all, requests in order to do a good job with the ones you are working on. I have gotten work at 1 time or another from about 15 companies with 4 of them consistently giving me the most.

Ok thanks, I did a search & now I am signing up with all that I can find & that have good reviews thru this site. I hope to get work on a daily basis. I am also doing loss mitigations, they send me out to visit clients who are not paying or have been sent a modification packages & have not answered. It's pretty good, they also go by zip codes. I hope to stay busy.

I don't want to discourage you, and I think you should keep signing up with companies, but...

the reality is your husband is right. You're a bit late to the game. You can still get some work, but most companies have far more agents then they know what to do with. Most aren't taking on experienced BPO/REO agents, let alone rookies.

You've got an uphill battle. I hope you do well, but you've got the deck stacked against you.

Sign up with as many as you can. Once on board, complete your orders with quality work, and meet their time deadlines.... both of these are important......I got back into this race late. I was told I was "too late". I'm in an area saturated with BPO and REO agents.......I now have a "money making" BPO business. My REO business is up and running...... set realistic monthly goals on what you want to achieve.....If I can do it, so can you.......good luck

I agree with CandyMan. I was just talking with an AM for my best account today and he said that although the platform may tell you 5 days to complete the BPO, they like to see it done ASAP. He said it drives him nuts to wait until the due date to receive a BPO and get started on his tasks. Bottom line, sign up everywhere and once you land a few opportunities, clear your tasks quick and do quality work... it gets noticed.
I came late to the game as well and was told over and over again that they werent accepting new agents but that didnt stop me. At some point they may get tired of other agents' lack luster performance and decide it is time for a change and your name may catch their eye.

Good luck

I couldn't agree with you more.......NEVER, NEVER, GIVE UP.......lots of dead wood out there when it comes to BPO and REO agents.........I have two agents in my office that are trying to break into the BPO business.....I don't see it happening......no work plan....no goals......just want to approach it from the "easy side".....must think these orders just fall out of trees.......

I found about 100 just doing leg work here and other sites.

Based on the research I did on each one here I decided to work for about 20. About 8 of those send me business on a regular basis. I dropped one of them last week (MS) because they wanted me to drive to the courthouse and pull the tax records for 2 bpo's in addition to taking the pics and doing the forms..all for $45.

I used to do them about 4 years ago and quit when I got real busy selling. Wish I never did!! :)

Some of them have paid quickly, others I'm starting to think they aren't going to pay. I love the excuse "we don't have your W9" when I faxed and e-mailed it 10 times already.

Stick with it. Some that I have applied for months ago are just now sending me the login/acceptance info.

Also, someone in my area caught wind of the addition competition and must have bought acceptance software. My 2 main clients were blasting orders everyday, at least 3 or 4 each day. Now all of a sudden, NOTHING in the last two weeks.

I regularly get assignments from approximately 12-15 companies in any given month, and receive sporadic assignments from about 20 other companies. I have signed up with some others which have never given me assigments, and passed on signing up with quite a few others with bad reputations, screened from what I've learned here.

it does seem to take some time to get rolling.........

I set out to see if I could build a business doing BPOs and started researching companies about 12 months ago, and have signed up with 35 or so. Got info on about 30 more I've passed on for now.

I've gotten work from 13 of these companies so far, although I heavily rely on 5 or 6 of these for most of my business. I'm waiting to see about some of the others.

it took months before I started getting jobs in significant numbers, but now doing 60-70 a month.

Strangely, the one company i've not been able to get started with is FARVV- I guess I'll keep applying every couple months because they seem like one of the big players here.

Do that, it took over 6 months for me to get on with Farvv. Now they are my biggest client.

I never stop applying. This month I've only had 12 orders from 2 of my regular companies. Last month I had 12 orders from 5 companies. January and February I had orders from 2 new companies but nothing from them since......when I don't have work, I apply and sometimes to companies that I applied to a year ago. Finally got a response from AVM and I'll bet I've applied or emailed them every three months!

I was late to the game, too. I did them (BPO's) years ago and then got too busy and stopped. I'm signed up with too many companies to count but regularly get business from 8. I've stopped even trying to get business from companies that e-mail blast orders in the middle of the night. :)
I really believe the key is to keep them very, very happy. Turn your reports in asap. If there is a qc issue- get it resolved quickly. It just makes sense that the reps will give more orders to brokers they don't have to worry about. At least that's what I would do.
Good luck. Just keep signing up.

sorry bump Does anyone else here go back and reapply to companies they have never received work from? There are plenty of good companies mentioned here that have that pat response of no longer taking applications in my area in order to provide work to all their preferred vendors.

I'm another that is late to the game . I started signing up and found myself REsigning up at the same sites so I started using roboforms and everytime I see a site to sign up at I "save" it. Once I apply- if it automatically signs me into the system I "save" it on roboforms in a file " Good Sign up"..If at signing up it says they will get back to me " Signed up and waiting" file..If it says they are no longer accepting applications - filed as such too. I'm hoping this help with follow up in the future. As I receive emails accepting or rejecting me I go back to my main list and file as appropriate.
Roboforms has a free trial you can download. I have the version that is roboforms to go with the usb thingy. Roboforms helped in filling out many of the applications and it also will remember the usernames and passwords to the sites you sign up with.
I am signed up with about 30 and waiting to hear back from about that many.

Because yesterday was a slow day, finally got one order for a retro, I began the process of signing up with some of the biggie's I've already processed with but have never received orders from; got messaged that I'm already in the system, then sent a Vendor inquiry email. Not sure what the correct procedure would be, bcc the inquiry to myself so that I call them next week.

Char- I have been signing up like crazy and posted above about tracking sites/usernames/passwords with roboform. I have also sent emails to those that didn't have a sign up link. I used constant contact ( free 30 day trial as does roboforms) and created a full color mini resume letter. Everytime I would come upon a site I was going to email- I would copy and paste the email address to a word doc. I would then at the end of the day copy and paste this email list into the mail list for constant contact. I would put xx next to those emailed on the word doc. I set up files in my email so I didn't go nuts- reo not accepting- reo sign up good- reo to do ( need to send docs, etc back) anyway, after being in a flurry here setting up email files to organize emails sent and received was a big help. The constant contact program has a history of emails sent that you can refer back to , manage, send update email, etc. I hope this helps a little. I'm not sure if there's a better way but after turning into the manic reo/bpo signer upper :) the above at least helped me not be so overwhelmed at my email inbox.

I'm a Valuation Manager, and regarding getting the orders, it important to realize that when companies get these huge orders for BPO's, they are from all 50 states, and so you may be signed up with a company but if they never get orders in your state, you may not hear from them....then suddenly one pops up and they NEED someone and that is where you really get to shine.

IF every agent just did what CalfiBrkr said:
" I really believe the key is to keep them very, very happy. Turn your reports in asap. If there is a qc issue- get it resolved quickly." You will have Valuation Managers banging down your door.

There is nothing more frustrating than WAITING for an agent to respond to a QC issue. Many times its a simple question that simply needs clarification. JUST LET THE VALUATION MANAGER KNOW YOU ARE WORKING ON IT AND KEEP YOUR WORD when you say it will be done! If you are communicating with the Valuation Manager regularly, you will be more appreciated than you know.

VGal - Do you work on site or from home?

To the original topic - whatever the number is I am in with - according to my work load this week - not enough wink

I had to turn down more that was out of my area and give back the same number because I already did them, as I have done this week, but there is 1 more day - lol. Slowest week I can remember for many months.

Welcome VGal....

This is our philosophy exactly. And that is the case too...they beg us to do bpo's now, I turn down work. It's taken a year, but that is where we are.

It has to be regional. I am signed with 30 max, hit hard on 6 of them, fill in the holes with another 10 of them, rarely hear from the others. Never worked for Titanium or m2m, but long standing worker for AVM. I love these guys. Great clients.

I'm signed up with about 50, but get orders from 19. I get the bulk of orders from 3 companies:
EML, PCV, & Main Street. I average 100 BPO's per month.

Yep - last time I looked it had a website.

Read the sticky threads on top for clues and rules - just a suggestion.

I love PCV and AVM, but I rarely hear from them. Do I need to give up my first born child to get regular orders from them?

I think I get six blasts a year from them, but my stats are great with both.

This is one of the things I like about this board is the differing views. I cannot stand doing work for PCV. They send email blasts and I just hit delete....

I'm also in the Miami area and I say the same than the rest. Sign up with as many as you can and don't give up. However, I got to tell you that I have seen a significant decline in bpo work in the last 3 years. I'm currently doing half or less than what I use to do 3-5 years ago. Property inventories and foreclosures have decreased a whole lot. property prices are already stable in many areas and there are tons of agents doing bpos( a lot of them for nothing) there are even agents creating teams and companies exclusively for bpos. The worse..... Working for pennies.... plus more cats wanting to get into it. Therefore much less bpos. I wonder about the future....... Not looking so good.

I've been doing a few orders for .com lately. Took 3 in one day which is my new record(haha yea I know that's nothing)! easy forms, great customer service. I was doing them here and there and now I've decided to try to get more business so we'll see what happens. I'll be signing up with a few more companies here soon.
