I can't tell you how many I am signed up with, but I regularly get work from 10-15 companies, with 10-15 more making appearances in my queue every couple of months.
A rough estimate is that for every 20 you sign up for, one might accept you and send you work - especially if you are not too experienced in BPOs/REOs, and many are beginning to require being licensed 2-3 years before applying.
Do the math as to how many you need to apply with...

The more you've signed with, the better your chance to get more work. Also, keep in mind that some companies take up to 6 months to approve your application (I waited for 7 months to be approved with PCV Murcor and 3 months with AVM). Others took up to 3 weeks. I receive orders from 14 companies, 4 of them send me orders on daily basis.
TB is right about 2-3 years of being licensed.

Sign up with as many as you can find on an internet search and if you end up with to much activity, ignore some of the open to all, requests in order to do a good job with the ones you are working on. I have gotten work at 1 time or another from about 15 companies with 4 of them consistently giving me the most.

Ok thanks, I did a search & now I am signing up with all that I can find & that have good reviews thru this site. I hope to get work on a daily basis. I am also doing loss mitigations, they send me out to visit clients who are not paying or have been sent a modification packages & have not answered. It's pretty good, they also go by zip codes. I hope to stay busy.

Sign up with as many as you can. Once on board, complete your orders with quality work, and meet their time deadlines.... both of these are important......I got back into this race late. I was told I was "too late". I'm in an area saturated with BPO and REO agents.......I now have a "money making" BPO business. My REO business is up and running...... set realistic monthly goals on what you want to achieve.....If I can do it, so can you.......good luck

I agree with CandyMan. I was just talking with an AM for my best account today and he said that although the platform may tell you 5 days to complete the BPO, they like to see it done ASAP. He said it drives him nuts to wait until the due date to receive a BPO and get started on his tasks. Bottom line, sign up everywhere and once you land a few opportunities, clear your tasks quick and do quality work... it gets noticed. I came late to the game as well and was told over and over again that they werent accepting new agents but that didnt stop me. At some point they may get tired of other agents' lack luster performance and decide it is time for a change and your name may catch their eye.
Good luck

Good luck I couldn't agree with you more.......NEVER, NEVER, GIVE UP.......lots of dead wood out there when it comes to BPO and REO agents.........I have two agents in my office that are trying to break into the BPO business.....I don't see it happening......no work plan....no goals......just want to approach it from the "easy side".....must think these orders just fall out of trees.......

I found about 100 just doing leg work here and other sites.
Based on the research I did on each one here I decided to work for about 20. About 8 of those send me business on a regular basis. I dropped one of them last week (MS) because they wanted me to drive to the courthouse and pull the tax records for 2 bpo's in addition to taking the pics and doing the forms..all for $45.
I used to do them about 4 years ago and quit when I got real busy selling. Wish I never did!! :)
Some of them have paid quickly, others I'm starting to think they aren't going to pay. I love the excuse "we don't have your W9" when I faxed and e-mailed it 10 times already.
Stick with it. Some that I have applied for months ago are just now sending me the login/acceptance info.
Also, someone in my area caught wind of the addition competition and must have bought acceptance software. My 2 main clients were blasting orders everyday, at least 3 or 4 each day. Now all of a sudden, NOTHING in the last two weeks.

I regularly get assignments from approximately 12-15 companies in any given month, and receive sporadic assignments from about 20 other companies. I have signed up with some others which have never given me assigments, and passed on signing up with quite a few others with bad reputations, screened from what I've learned here.

The question was "how many BPO companies are you signed up with?".......not "how many times you signed up"......lol All kidding aside....I swear I must have signed up at least a 1,000 times......just kept at it till they started to cave....

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
