Hi everyone, new here. I have a client that has several websites, they want to be able to post their MLS listings one time and have it show up on all of their websites - instead of having to enter them separately at each one. Is there any magic software or anyway of doing this?

I have two trains of thought on your issue, first check with your client and ask them if their local MLS provider offers a solutions to feed their listings to other sites. If they do not I know of another option but it is more restrictive. Open-Realty has the ability to use a single database to power multiple web sites www.open-realty.org this option requires the broker to maintain a listing database separate from the MLS but Open-realty has an IDX import feature that allows you to siphon the listings from the MLS, but it is only as current as teh IDX updates run on your Open-Realty server

Or, you can create one web page that the other sites are linked to.

If the page can be updated easily, you're done.

Think link.

James is correct that most MLSs have direct links to agent pages. You just need the URL to add to your code.

Also, Sugarfish, send us the link and we can add them to index of listing companies - free by the way.

Also, James - you are now linked from REindex.com on the Casa Grande, AZ page.

I agree with James, I'd go the Open-realty route..

Thanks to all for your help. I'm not an agent, just trying to help a client with their needs and am "flying by the seat of my pants" on this and appreciate the input.

Hey
Take a look on www.realtyvisions.com. They have a lot of things there
standards compliant css/xhtml
unnecessary tables and deprecated code replaced
search page
search results template
listing view template
featured listings template
fully customized search criteria (Ajax ready)
Integrated (same look and feel) blog (Ajax ready)
featured listings slide show
API to cooperate with third party addons and modules.
proven scalable to over 60,000 listings
multiple sites from one database
search and listings on non-realty sites
They also have there multiple sites from one database and you can also show them on non-realty sites. Ussualy you'd have to have a good host, where you could make an import of 10 000 -20 000 listings. Showing the listings on non-realty sites means that you could have a cheaper host and show the homes on that site
Take a look on www.realtyvisions.com

Be sure other content is different on each of the sites. If you simply have several domain urls (i.e. www.domain1.com, www.domain2.com) that all have the same content (i.e. just have info on the same home for sale), then it will actually diminish the domains ranking on search engines over time. If each domain has other info on the site and also includes the listing, then you will be fine.

Google Custom Forum Search

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
