I have three GPS's. One Magellan and two Garmins. There is absolutely no comparison. The Garmin is a hundred times better in all regards.

At first I thought my Magellan was a lemon because of all of the problems I had, so I exchanged it for a new one. Same problems:

-Tells you to make three left turns instead of a right.
-Routing on long distance trips in horrendous. I drive from Buffalo to Harrisburg about once a month. The Magellan tries to route me through Cleveland and Pittsburgh. The proper route takes about 5.25 hours. The Magellan route would take 11 hours if I was stupid enough to listen.
-The Magellan needs to be hard-reset at least once a week. It can't establish its current location on start-up.
-The voice commands are way too late. It will tell you to turn right after you have passed the road.

Neither of my Garmin GPS's have any of these issues. They are a dream to work with.

I have TeleNav
Turns my cell phone into a GPS. My maps are all updated automadically every few weeks. I can also put all my properties in it from my desk top. It even alearts me to trafic and askes if I want to be re-routed. And its only $10 a month. There is no special devices. Just download the software to my cell phone and wola

here is it http://telenav.com/ Check em out. I have had them for about 2 years now. It even finds newer addresses that my Garmin could not.

Here is an excellent store to purchase Garmins online. I am not affiliated with them - no kick backs or anything...friends of mine have purchased from them and when I'm ready to get one, I will be getting it here.

Add me as another fan of the Garmin. I don't know what model I exactly have. Mine has an MP3 player built into it as well as a FM transmitter. So I can play my tunes as well as get the directions from the radio speakers. Pretty cool.

I have a magellan. In my market we get alot of vacationers and snowbirds looking at alot on homes in limited time. I can program multiple locations hit optimize and it routes the stops for me. It's easy to see in daylight and at night 4.3" screeen
what a time saver! It's about three years old now still works great can't remember the days without it. I bought refurbished at buy.com for $89.00 just to try it out wasn't sure how it would be what a great investment it's has turned out to be.
