what are you all using right now? i want to get one and was wondering what you all thought....i have been looking at the GARMIN NUVI 255W. thanks!

if you do bpos make sure you get one that you can program multiple stop trips. They come in handy. I use a Magellan one. I'm to lazy to go out to my truck to see what model. I like it. I also use the one that came in our Lexus. I actually like the Megellan one better then that one.

I have a Garmin Streetpilot C340 and my husband has the Garmin Nuvi 265W.

I prefer Garmin as I have found their maps to be the most current for my area.

yeah i do a lot of bpos...i can travel 200 miles some days....for 7 years i have been just writing out my trips and now i would like to streamline a little...because i have old-schooled it for so long i know all of the areas around me and i fear that i will argue with the GPS more than use it. i like the Garmin.

I have a Garmin Nuvi 680. I love it. I should of invested in one a long time ago. I just enter all the addresses, save them as favorites, and away I go. It puts them in order for you. It's great for BPOs and showing properties. You save a lot of time. Make sure you shop around because prices vary a lot.

I have a Garmin.....love it.....have only had it just short of a year.....only regret was not buying one years ago....make sure you have voice prompt....not sure if all their models come with that feature......When I first got mine, I had to try out it's accuracy.....when it said turn left, I'd turn right.....next thing you hear is "recalculating". I did this 3 or 4 times.....suddenly, I swear, the voice started to change, like it was getting an attitude....it was really funny.....when I have a slow day, or know a shorter route, we go through the games again.......With as much area I cover, being without it, makes no sense......it paid for itself, just in fuel savings....Garmin also offers a map update....I believe for the first 60 days of ownership....hook it up to your computer, download the new version, then you're good to go.......good luck.....you're going to love it......

I have a TomTom and a Garmin Nuvi 255w (at least I believe that's the model) I like the Garmin Nuvi better. Seems to have slightly better maps and a better interface.

Even though you are old school and you think you know your area your gps will help you out. Mine found me a short cut. Well not really a short cut just a route that I knew about, but didn't consider being faster until I tried it. Somewhat longer distance, but 2 stoplights compared to 10 and 65 speed limits compared to 40 makes the trip much faster. Thanks GPS. I especially like how they tell you which side of the street the house is on. You might think that isn't to helpful, but I find it is as I like the house I'm targeting to be on my drivers side and I like to know that before I get onto the street. My Magellan has a feature if you put in 7 addresses and push this optomize button it will map out what it thinks is the fastest route to all properties from where you are. I do that normally anyways, but it does it automatically. My Lexus GPS doesn't have that feature. Well not that I can figure out anyways.

Garmin Nuvi 660, picked up on Black Friday for 50% off Great investment, saves a few minutes per order not having to look up maps online, plus makes finding houses easier and safer as not having to look down at printed map.

Mine has a built in MP3 player, and an FM transmitter. The FM transmitter doesn't work good in my market b/c we have way too many FM stations, so there is alot of bleedover. But I just hooked up one of those old cassette adapters to the external speaker jack, and now it the songs and directions come thru my car stereo.

I can only put 2 address in at a time, and I have to tell it which is first and which is second, thats the only feature I wish was better, I'd like to be able to put more addresses in and it calculate the route.

After buying one, check the date of the included map, mine was actually up to date, so I was able to save my free map update until they put a new map out. Even the newest maps are typically a year or two behind on new roads, took it 2 years to show a new major highway that was finished here.

My unit you set it to find the quickest or the shortest route to a location, so you may get different directions depending on which way you set it. And some roads it just refuses to take me down, even tho I know its a shortcut, and its on my map, it never takes me down them.

Well I've spent enough time redirecting people that got bad info from their GPS that I'm not any too keen on trying one out (my wife seems to think I should but so far hasn't been able to show me the need).

They were just coming in to use by the general public back when I was still active with my pilot's license and would have considered it for that. Those units are quite different as a street map has very little use in the air. Way point coordinates are done by latitude and longitude, you don't need a street intersection!

I have TOM TOM 700 since 2005, I love. I send it twice have it repaired, they always send a new one, no question about it. Two weeks later they call me if everything is working well for me. Other one was installed in Lexus. Each has some good and bad, but after while you don’t even notice. TomTom is faster to program and other one tell me which side of the road is a house, but slower on inputting addresses. Save me lot of time. I got so lazy, I have my office and home on pilot, also will give me a mileage from subject to office, don't need to google it.

so i ordered the GARMIN 760 last night. i got in on amazon.com for $225. reg. $699...

there is a feature on the garmins that allows you to put more than 2 addresses. if you put in the first one and then add all the other as VIA points. then when the driving map comes up click on the address and then tools, then settings. after that you can choose shortest or fastest directions. you can do that on a GARMIN 255w so you have to be able to do it in a 680
