Before you get too involved with you new site you might want to consider changing the name and url.

You use of the word realtor is an infringement on the realtor trademark. You will be getting a letter from NARs legal counsel to cease and desist.

Bigtoe is right, I made the same mistake. I had registered about 10 sites (real estate business directories) with the word "realtor" and had to modify all of them. I was contacted by e-mail by the National Association of Realtors (NAR).

I can third that as well they are very proactive at finding offenders and informing them of the violation. It cost us several domains many years ago.

It is a registered trademark.

On another note - Is that a Joomla site? It is really slick and is really easy to use.

Why is your site has a PR ranking of 0? What did you do to upset google?

That is so ridiculous that this term is a registered trademark. Anyway, I hope they don't mess with you as I like the layout and ease of use of your site.

They created the Term and protected it. It didn't exist prior to their filing for that protection.

Some would say that the whole US System of Patents, Copyrights, Trademarks and Servicemarks is ridiculous; but it is still the best in the World, after being tested since 1790.

If you ever have an Original Idea or Invent Something worth protecting, you will probably seek to protect it the same "ridiculous" manner . . . . by Registering it with the US Patent and Trademark Office.

It's a good domain name, but like others have said, you may not be able to use it for long. I wonder if it has any resale value however.

Unless the NAR wants to buy it, anyone else would fall under the same infringement rules...

What if you disclose in the terms an Conditions that "Realtor is a trademark of...blah blah blah..." and "this site has not been endorsed, blah blah by the NAR....", I wonder if that may get you off the hook?

Change URL ASAP - why waste time, money, and effort promoting what you know is going to change.

Man this is the longest surviving copyright violation that I have ever seen... good show.... I am surprised some of our own members who have been caught have not reported this site.
