Anyone out there have experience thawing houses? I am giving a quote to thaw a 1500 sq foot house that has been frozen for months. I have figured that two 200,000 btu heaters for 48 hours should do the trick, but I want to CMA so any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

I had two (2) Kerosene Salamanders heat the basement of a house of about that size when it was -67°F outside; and I think they were only 80,000 BTU apiece. But I only had to do the basement (until we could verify that the Boiler was going to work). I never left them unattended. What's the outside temperature that you're competing with ?

It should take you less than 8 hours with those heaters. i usually use 4 60,000 btu heaters, just so i can aim them at each of the toilets/kitchen sink. don't leave them unattended. I had one start on fire in my garage 2 years ago.
