Does anyone know of a good internet directory that allows open house announcements? I know of one (which is free) at www.openhousefree.com which does not seem to get a lot of activity.

It would seem that there would be a place for this type of service where the consumer could search for open houses and find a good central database service.

What about on the MLS? In GA we can list our open houses and broadcast e-mails to the agents in the area of the open house.

I am looking for a non-mls affiliated service. Access by the general public.

check www.realtor.com they do have the listings that already on the MLS. and also it has access for everyone.. u ll like it.

Worthless (in my never humble opinion)

The biggest problem with the Internet is finding stuff on it.

Real estate is mostly local i.e. the California market has no relationship to the Florida market and so on.

Most buyers of real estate in a given area either search local sources for information or, more likely, just get in their car and drive around an area they are thinking of moving to. If they see an open house they like they stop and go in.
