Actually, I am not a "Type A" personality, but I do try to chime in every once in a while!

The most effective personality type for real estate (and any other relationship-based industry) is one that can identify with all personality types.
It is human nature to want to do business with someone similar to us.
I am "type A". If I have a potential client who is totally opposite of me in personality, I risk overwhelming him if I am in 100% type A mode. I must therefore communicate with him on his level.
Whether its Type A & B, DISC, Myers-Briggs, etc., if you communicate wholly through your "type", you risk, to some degree, isolating those who are not your "type".
I have a book on this. I have recently moved and can't find it. If I find it, I will post it.

Roger Dawson has a great course on the power of negotiation. Talks about the different types of personalities.
Analytical Pragmatic Amicable Extrovert
I am a rather pragmatic person but i do analytical things for fun.
Problem with me is I tend to shift into hte extrovert side when I should be pragmatic. This has caused me way too many deals. I'm working on this but not easy. Sometimes I crack a bad joke in the middle of a meeting or I say something that is extrovert when people are analyizing my information.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
