I am starting my own GIS & mapping business serving Canada and the United States, and have developed a couple of tools for agricultural customers which I think may also be useful to realtors (especially those dealing with rural property).

The first is an addition for Garmin GPS units that contains Section/Township/Range coordinates for an entire State (available for all U.S. States). This allows you to search for the section where the property is located, then let the GPS take you there. It is very popular with my agricultural customers who need to locate particular fields and farms, so I figure it may be helpful to realtors too?

The second is an overlay for Google Earth again containing Section/Township/Range and available for every County in the U.S. This lets you easily view satellite imagery of any property just using the Section/Township/Range.

I'm looking for feedback as to whether I could market these to realtors, and if so, what would be the best way go about it.

Any feedback/ideas would be appreciated. I'd be willing to provide some free samples of the Google Earth overlays if anyone wishes to test them out for me.

Maybe incorporate a multiple address input with starting point and return. I think they call it Traveling Salesman software doing route optimization. You should definitely have it a web based software considering how the industry is and has been heading in that direction. I would suggest making it free with ad support, but I know that may not be possible. Good luck.

I would see a need for this up north here. Real estate agencies specializing in hunting land would really benefit from something like this. Does this show the plot lines?

I needed something like that a few weeks ago when I was doing property valuations on some farmland and all I was given was the legal and the county I was in didn't have maps.

But for Realtors that don't step foot out of towns I'm not sure this would all that helpful. And most farm brokers I know barely know how to use a computer.
