As seen in my travels yesterday. Quite common here.

Beautiful. Reminds me of the peacocks that roam the grounds at the LA Arboretum.

I was lucky enough to find a gorgeous tail feather on the grounds the last time I was there. Nice souvenir and it sits in a plant next to my desk.

My dad lives in Central Coastal CA and we used to see the peacocks on his property. We would also see wild pigs and deer at times. Too much growth has run them all off. Great picture CanDo.

Looks like that is one of his regular roosts . . . . complete with deposits of Peacock Dookey (aka guano) which gets HomeOwners quite upset. I tell these erstwhile BirdLovers to change the color of their paint to match the deposits.

There is one particular area of the County that has more than its fair share of the Peacocks and Peahens. In this particular area, they are unafraid of humans. This year I had a peacock near me and he never found his mate (that was sad). Where this peacock picture was taken there is only 1 pair of mating peacocks. They really strut their stuff. There is an area in Berkeley that has mating peacocks. For years they tried to capture the little darlings but in a densely populated area you take your wildlife where you can find it. The neighborhood got it together to say thanks, but no thanks. The peacocks roam unfettered. Peacocks roam Golden Gate Park and it is said that the peacocks were a left over from the good ole hippie days; unfortunately (or fortunately) that simply is not true. The peacocks were in the park before there was a Summer of Love!
