I posted this in another section with no response so perhaps I can get a little help in this forum.

I am looking for ideas on how to approach the relocation market to assist people in relocating to our area. I know the area very well and have experience in other areas of real estate. However, I am new to sales and have not yet built up a referral list. What is the best way to promote my services with companies in my area, assisting them with relocating transferees and new hires moving into my area?

Any help and experiences shared would be appreciated, including what to say to gain their confidence and give me a chance.

You might join the ERC (employee relocation council). You need to be trained to handle many of the relocations out there. They will teach you how to do an ERCBMA for folks who have a home to list. You need to give updates and follow the ERC procedures for most corporate moves. This can be a tough market to get into so keep on working and make sure that your broker is eligible to receive the ERC business.

Sweet Sabrina-

You can set yourself apart from other agents by offering more services to those relocating. Most agents will show them homes and give them information about the area. You can provide information and assistance by helping the new residents obtain their residency.

For example, guide them in applying for their homestead, registering to vote, re-titling their vehicle, etc. Find an attorney, accountant and insurance agent that you trust and can confidently refer them to. In addition to making yourself more valuable to the companies who bring in the residents, you can build a profitable referral network.

Put together a package to present to the companies and make yourself indispensible to them by solving a headache.
