I've been advised that the best way to quickly sell in a buyer's market is to offer to pay the buyer's mortgage payments for however many months.
Is it as simple as withholding money from closing and giving it to the buyer's lender for the payments? Or are there more complicated legal things involved in doing this?

Haven't done it that way, but did have a seller pay one year's HO Assn dues for the buyer through escrow with the check paid directly to the HO Assn. This was a great marketing tool which put our listing at the top of the numerous availables.
