I haven't got a clue. I know the website of theirs I use for property searches has been totally messed up for months. Like no one's maintaining it. They're been layoffs here, too.

What will happen next is a really good question. I heard they're defaulting.

Maybe this is why I have seen a HUGE slow down with them in the last week and 1/2 BPO wise????

I don't do too much with them. I don't have time to sit and it refresh on the site every 2 minutes.

I can't find anything about that - especially since Fidelity just put the breaks on their deal. Can you give us a reliable source?

Pinehurst you're right, I didn't read the DSNews yesterday. And I think I meant Fidelity and not First American (both start with the letter "F"). I've been sick the last week and my memory must be a little faulty. Thanks!

I spoke to my favorite rep there and asked her what's the buzz around the office. She said officially nothing is being said, however the feeling around the office is not good.

Actually, there is a prior thread regarding Fidelity and LandAM. As I pointed out at that time, First American does have some sort of investment in LandAm. I had been told by local First Am reps that they were sister companies and at a CAR meeting a LandAm rep said pretty much the same thing. This is why I questioned Fidelity's involvement with LandAm. Whatever.

Here's a link (buried in the post) for what it's worth to the investment that First Am has/had in LandAm.

I'll bet they end up filling for bankruptcy. I wonder if they are just the first of many.

Their revenue was down 30%. And that's probably not coming back anytime soon.

The woman I spoke to there yesterday sounded like her dog had run off, her man done left and her truck broke down. I didn't ask, but it doesn't look good.

not sure if this is related, but we got slammed by M2M, and CC starting late Friday into Sat, way more than normal. Is it possible clients are bailing on land am?

Maybe that's why a huge batch of LandAm orders were canceled on Friday evening.
