Hello all, my name is Brian Beck and I hail from the lovely city of Cleveland OH! Currently it is a balmy 28 degrees with all kinds of tropical snow and winds blowing around!
I started out as a real estate investor here in Cleveland in 2005. I joined an investor group and we were buying SFH's and setting them up on RTO programs, working with people with credit issues, helping them become home owners and making some money to boot. Around July 2006, we had a major flood hit our county which they had dubbed the 500 year flood. Our president came here, and declared a State of Emergency, it was a huge mess.
All of a sudden we had a (Excuse the pun) flood of telephone calls from people and families needing homes quickly and inexpensively. I went out with a partner of mine and we began buying used mobile homes in parks around the area and placing people and families in these homes and selling to them on financing. This is known in the investing world as a "Lonnie Deal" named after the godfather of the mobile home financing world, Lonnie Scruggs!
I have since quit my full time job and I now do this type of investing for other investors, charging them a fee for service, and it has become my full time passion. With the way the real estate market has been lately, we have been pretty busy! I've been able to hire a few people and spend much of my time in front of my computer, doing marketing for our business, and being the liason between our customers and our investor clients.
So, that's my story and I hope to bring a unique perspective to your forums. I didn't see anything mobile home related right off the bat, but of course, I haven't really delved into all of the boards, and messages just yet. Just wanted to check in and say "Hello!"
