Getting alot of orders this month. Amazing how sometimes they come and sometimes they don't. I am very grateful for the orders. Any little bit will help when the checks come in December.

Glad the election is over and gas prices are down. Paid $2.09 for gas today. I can afford to drive around a bit!

Here's hoping your November is Bountiful!

cowie!!! I'm so excited for you!!! November will be a great month, just you see. It's the BPO world telling you that life would suck in retail or in any other service industry but RE.

Gas here is $2.39/gal (at the cheap station). Not bad, not bad at all.

i feel sorry for the people who traded in their SUV, and over paid for a prius, they lost 7-10k on the trade in, and paid full retail on the new car because of the demand, to save a few hundred a month for a year. They should have just kept the SUV...

Not to mention people who bought a Chrysler product because of the $2.99 gas price guarantee.

Does anybody think gas prices are actually going to stay low? we need to go to hybrids, electric, etc. to stop giving $'s to the middle east. I would gladly pay more for gas if the money stayed in the US.

That's right Cowie retail couldn't beat this with a stick! Why would you be away from home hours on end. The only thing you would be ditching would be the re fees.

Gas this morning at the Raceway in Manassas VA was $1.96 a gallon for regular and hi-test was $2.19. I could fill up for just over $30 bucks for the first time in a long while.

Apparently, none of you saw this. For me, $1.93 is pretty easy to find these days.

$1.99 here. But, I am still hanging up the real estate license on December 31, 2008. I live 50 miles from a major market so not only is it hard to sell houses, but I drive around for a $50 bpo.

I am addicted to this site though. I love BPOs! If I lived in a city where I could take pictures within a 10 miles of home and be a taximom, I would stay doing this. But, not in this one horse town. It is the good life in NE though. I will be a stay at home mom until the right job comes along. I guess I can afford to drive to work now.

I don't have deep enough pockets to wait for the turn in real estate. Our average sale price is $99,000, but I have only sold a few over that. Lately, it has been alot of $40,000 homes that are selling. Not much commission in that!

Hope you can get back into RE one of these days, Cowie cause I think you're gonna miss it. Have you looked into freelance writing? Maybe you could write about real estate!

Gas is at $1.82/gal here. BPOs are picking up a little - yeah!! And no, we do not have the volume that so many of you do, but I am still thankful for what we do have.

Keep driving your fuel sippers and leave the SUV at home and watch gas hit .75/gal. It's a no brainer. Huge amounts of people are broke, losing their jobs and 401k money left and right, and are conserving or just can't afford to drive...period. They're not spending money in general, which is why the whole economy is in a tailspin. Forget about a recession, depression is the new buzzword latey.

I feel so guilty...but I bought gas yesterday for 1.59. Heading to Ohio for the week to enjoy some down time with the family. Not leaving today cuz who wants to drive through Columbus with The Ohio State University game at noon playing Michigan. Everyone comes out of the woodwork for that one. Traffic is a nightmare!
Cowie-best of luck to you. I think you will be gaining a great job as a stay at home mom. Don't be a stranger!!

Oh Cake!!! You need to come here. $1.95/gal and falling daily. Even at the "expensive" gas stations, $2.05/gal. We never, ever got to $5.00.

Does the term gouging mean anything?

This is my first year doing BPO's through the holiday season. Does anyone know if some of these companies will still be assigning orders tomorrow.

Do any of them ever assign orders on the weekends?

Yes . . . . and Yes ! But not all. For example, FINITI only keeps Banker's hours ! In contrast, I got a call from FARVV on New Years Day !

I received orders on Friday last year. A few companies send out orders on weekends - nothing consistent.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Hey everyone!

My Thanksgiving was pretty wild.

I ran a half-marathon 13.1 miles for the first time ever.I reached my goal of running the whole thing without stopping. What killed me is the last 5 miles were nothing but hills which brought my average time down a little.

At least I ate what I wanted to at Thanksgiving with no worries!LOL

I did a marathon yesterday myself, after an early Thanksgiving feast at out house, which only my eldest daughter and family was able to attend, we packed up several covered dishes and hand delivered them to my starving college student daughter and her husband at 6pm. We only went in long enough to say hello then left. A 3.5 hour round trip - 2 college students well fed and Mom & Dad having just having a 'Happy Thanksgiving' smile

Of course that created an appetite so I had to begin to dig in to the left-overs.

We almost had a great Thanksgiving. Oldest son wasn't able to make it with his family because he had to work (he works at the Borgata Casino in AC, NJ), but our very pregnant daughter and her husband were here along with the youngest son.
I lost the "pool" because I thought she's have delivered either the 25th or the 26th.
I hope everyone else had a fabulous Thanksgiving Day.
