I was just going to post baby and kid items... like clothes and toys. These always seem to be left behind.
One other way I identify the subject property is to look for the large trampoline in the backyard....

Oh, I don't know about common, but at my last REO my carpet cleaning guy found... dentures! He though it's an expensive thing and somebody lost it, but forgot to tell me about his discovery. So he put them right at the front entrance, so who ever will enter the house would notice them. And here I am with my prospective Buyers. You could only imagine my reaction!:)

shoes outside the front door, you know they are ok with the dog poop on the floor, just as long as the kids don't walk on the carpet with their shoes...

Collection notices everywhere. From everyone - mortgage co, credit card co, utility co, Columbia Music Club (okay, I threw that one in for fun - we all owe them that darned penny)...
Also, once I did a 2nd Opinion on a house where the previous owner owned the local collection agency. Oh, the irony.

My ironic bpo was for a house in foreclosure owned by the principal party in a "clean up your credit" company. If he couldn't clean up his own, how could he help anyone else? Curious minds want to know.
