Hey there! :) Hope everyone is having a great Sunday. I was wondering if someone could explain the training program at either Keller Williams or C21. What I was wanting to know is when you first become an agent, what were the first few weeks like?

What was the mentor program like? What consisted of it? How long did you sit with someone?

What online classes do they provide? Did they allow you to take the online courses at anytime? What kind of training did they provide online? How long are the online coursese?

Sorry to ask such specific questions, but I am still curious of how things are once I have my license.

Thanks a bunch for your responses!!!

Each KW office is independently owned and operated and it isn't clear where you are, but there should be consistency with regard to training programs. KW offers Camp 4:4:3, the introduction to the KW System for new and experienced agents. My team leader is always available to answer questions, provide coaching and more. There is always some type of training going on and a wealth of other online training and support resources. You may want to pick up The Millionaire Real Estate Agent to get a better snapshot of our go to market strategy.

Take it from an Agent who started his career at a C21.... Don't go with them, PERIOD! I've never worked for KW but hear good things from Agent's that I am friends with in the business. They have a oddly cult-like structure, from what I hear, but supposedly have superior training.

The 'cult' atmosphere simply doesn't exist. Yes, there are some rather funny DVDs or YouTube videos floating about with KW Culture... but I an assure you that there is nothing 'cult-like' about KW. As an experienced agent who just this year got back into the business after a several year hiatus, I interviewed with a number of brokers. Several of them told me things about KW that simply aren't true. Is KW 'different'?? YES! But it's different in organization, structure, training, branding, and the development of its agents. No brainwashing. No indoctrination. No false promises.

I attended Gary Keller's SHIFT seminar here in Dallas earlier this month. No hero-worship. No cult. No weirdness. Just a good, strong seminar about building our business in a shifting market!

If you haven't visited your KW office yet... by all means do so. Then visit your C21 Office. Talk to the agents and staff. Get to know them. Then make your decision based on what these 'real people' tell you.

Good luck!

I really don't think you'll find better training than at KW. As stated above pick up the Millionaire Real Estate Agent or SHIFT book. It may give you a better understanding of what KW is all about.

Also, this cult talk is all bogus and not true. Each office has its own characteristics.

I just wanted to comment on the whole KW vs. C21 thing. I actually interviewed at both places today, and must say, there was a distinct difference in the two offices and their brokers. I felt very comfortable at the KW office. He was very nice, up front, and honest about costs, the business, etc. They seem to be more than generous, and have a very positive outlook. He even gave me a book, The Millionaire Real Estate Agent! I was there for 45 minutes, and didn't even realize it.

Now, C21 on the other hand I felt like the broker was trying to be shifty and skirt around the issue of fees and money. He couldn't even give me a solid answer on what the split was, and his cost sheet was all over the place and hard to read. I was there for 15 minutes, and I think he found out more about me than I did about the company. I am not trying to bash the C21, because all offices are different, and the broker seemed nice enough I suppose, it just didn't seem to be for me.

My vote would be Keller-Williams if those are the only ones that you are considering. KW has an interesting history, excellent complimentary training, profit sharing and friendly helpful agents. My own experience with C-21 many, many years ago is that they do have hidden costs and their excellent training is whatever your pocketbook can afford. But this opinion is just mine based on my observations with the industry over the past 15 years.

Happy office hunting!

Hi, You were given good advice above. You can find info on each company online and they all have info on their basic structure. You then have to contact a local office for their specific requirements. There are more companies that are wonderful to work with also. I looked at the ones above and also others , but Exit Realty was the one that offered me everything I was looking for and More. They have a way where you can build residual income, retirement income and also beneficiary income and that was important for my family. good luck!
