I never received any orders from AVM, meanwhile there are plenty of BPOs from other companies that have me on auto-assign as Top Performing Vendor due to my quality work and quick TAT (never late, I always beat deadline by at least 12 hours before BPO is due). Anyway, I hear a lot of good things about AVM and hope they send me some orders in the future, and I'll have a chance to show my 8 year experience.

Val

How does one hit one out of the park their first time at the plate? Every company is different......their clients wants and needs are different...Their QC department can be different.
The key to a successful working relationship is communication.
My first order will usually go down the middle of the road. Until I'm sure what a company is looking for I have no choice.
Through the communication process is how I learn to fine tune future reports. There are no "cookie cutter" forms.....each and every company is different. A BPO may appear "cookie cutter" when first presented. The middle of the road concept may qualify as such.

I have a few companies that hold to a 10% to 15% GLA and others that max at 25%. As I said indicated earlier all companies are different. It takes time and lots of good communication to establish a good working realtionship.

Cando..I haven't worked with AVM yet but to attach MLS as jpeg you don't need to scan. So...from PDF that you got, you then choose "File" then "Save As". Then under "Choose As Type", choose "jpeg". Hope this helps.

That is not an option from my MLS and I cannot do that with my version of CutePDF. I've tried.

In response to Jim,

We received our first order from AVM last night and after finishing the report I asked if they would overlook the report before submitting to make sure we did everything correctly per their guidelines.

Both Val and Sally were more than happy to assist us with this.
Never hurts to talk to the person that is going to be evaluating your report before submitting it.

Thanks Val!

Jim I agree. What I mean by "cookie cutter" is say you do 3 bpos for us.... Every bpo has the exact same comments as if there was no thought put into it. I know every house is different & we do not want agents who just put whatever to get $50. When you have areas with hundreds of agents it is not ok to leave off amenities or leave the addendum & comments sections blank. That is a mediocre bpo. You should be painting a picture for the client not just the bare minimum. Other companies mught be ok with this but heads up AVM is not. Our review team is tough. As Justin stated all you have to do is ask.

Justin I hope Sally's advice helped.

Justin

I use the same approach, especially if just starting with a company...that's the communication part I referred to.....I had one just last week with another company that I've been doing business with most of this year. I had some questions and QC was great. My complaint are the companies that don't communicate....don't return calls or answer emails.....those are the ones that can be frustrating. After a while, you just have to cut the dead wood loose. When I have to second guess as to what they're looking for, well, I just make my adjustments and move on. There are some very positive posts in this forum towards Val and AVM. I was directing my post to the "cookie cutter" statement....As, in most cases, there are at least two sides to every issue. As we pull our information from our local MLS, we can only supply what's available. Val is correct in regards to 'cookie cutter BPO's. They're real easy to identify.....I'm just simply stating that they're two sides to this issue. If I'm not flooded with orders I take the time to read what my new company is requiring. If it's a time issue I have no choice but to read over the basics. Once you're on the same page, it's a cake walk.

I totally agree with you there Jim, some companies have a real problem communicating even when you try to take the initiative to make sure you are doing things right. Also I have found with some companies their guidelines state one thing, but then QC will come back requiring something different. This does not happen a lot but it does happen occasionally.

I know the amount of competition there is in this business so for me I want to make sure we are giving the highest quality reports possible with the quickest turn around time.

Then try this...Open the page you want to save as jpeg. Then locate button "PrtSc" or Print Screen on your keyboard. Press it once. Then open Paint program and paste it. Then you will be able to cut what you need and save it as jpeg.

How do you get the whole page? I tried an experiement and only got what I could see on my screen (screen capture). Thank you though for the information. I've always wanted to know how to do a screen capture and now I know!!! Thank you again.

justinHSV,

That is good advice for a first time and friendly counterparts at the contracting company. I hadn't thought of that.

On the JPG issue, Creative Suite 3 allows PDF->JPG conversion, the better half is a graphic artist and I've had to use that feature before.

Cando...if you need to make the whole MLS page fit into the screen, click on the drop-down box at the lower right corner of the IE window where it says "100%" and choose "custom". Then put in the % to make it fit. This only works if you have IE version 7.
