OK so i have 500 basic cards to get me started until i come up with a card i really want. here is a thought wanted to get your thought.

instead of putting my picture on my card, really dont want to even though most of the top agents in my office say do so. so what about getting a professional drawing of me done. like a caricature but not to silly cartoonish more of a professional cartoonish style

thoughts?

pros
different, sticks out, attention grabbing

cons
not professional enough?

I like it! There's an agent in my area who had a bobble head of himself made and he uses a picture of that on his cards, it's great!

Anything different than everyone else is great, imho.

Mine is of a landscape picture rather than my picture. I wanted something I could stick a magnet on and people would stick on their fridge - they'd be more likely to do that with my landscape than with a headshot.

I knew it was working when one agent's husband complained that my card stood out from everyone else's and thus was not fair. LOL

With my mug, I'd frighten people away so I went to handing out note cards, from Levengers.com with my POC info printed on them. It works for me as there is plenty of room from and back to write on.

I like verticle cards rather than horizonal ones

I useually get just fairly basic cards, Ive never got my picture put on them.

When I first started real estate I looked like a 12 year old in my pictures and didn't want to be pre-judged.

A red roof is our logo - so I have that on horizontal cards instead of a headshot. Our broker has a headshot on vertical cards. They all seem to work ok.

I like the idea of a drawing, just make sure it doesn't have too much shading or it might look muddy in such a small space. I'd like to see that if you decide to do it!

Try colour tech
http://www.colourtechusa.com/

They have some plastic cards that look like credit cards and I get compliments all the time. Very expensive but I think they last longer.

Just make a card. Half of the people you give it to are gonna chuck it anyways.

While it would stand out, my opinion is that it wouldn't stand out for the right reason. It'd appear gimicky as opposed to professional. You could have a thousand others that think differently than me too, though.

Personally, I'd stay away from it. The most mileage I've gotten is to have a logo designed for myself and have that on one side and my contact info on the other. No pic. Have gotten great results and compliments.

Well we have a top producer that has a caricature. Her and her brother use one. They are not team members though. She also has a car wrap with the caricature on it. I really don't think it makes much a difference either way. If youre just handing out cards to everybody its just a shot in the dark unless you have a glow in the dark or hologram or something! Otherwise I think its the circumstances in which youre giving your card out. A friendly conversation with someone interested and it doesnt matter if your card is black and white typewritter font. They'll be willing to keep it and secure it. If youre just handing it out to people at the gas station It could have a moving metallic 3d widget on it that talked and they MIGHT keep it.

Ok thoughts on this.. I had this done, do you think it looks good or should i go for a more cartoonish look.

Kind of fun cartoon vs a more professional look..

thoughts?

if you're going to go that route, I'd go for a more cartoonish, caricature rather than this one.

I don't see how it's gimmicky (my landscape of the river), but hey, that's your opinion. You're entitled. smile

I have a picture I took of our landmark Huntington Beach pier, then my picture in a t-shirt on my boat that my wife took. That is me.
