I can't imagine. Maybe she thought she'd die before having to pay....and then took matters in to her own hands when she discovered it wasn't working out the way she planned.

I wonder if OJ gets prison raped if they will forgive his fate?

All I can say is "get ready for lots of botched suicide attempts"...this sets a precedent to me....

I don't know why this chick had to, or chose to, take out 4 loans in less than 10 years. But if she had the credit & the ability to repay, and a lender denied her, she woulda had a case for age descrimination, and possibly other things.

What I really don't understand is how a mortgage can be forgiven after the entire f/c process is completely over. I mean OVER. Confirmation of sale is done & filed. Eviction filed & 30 days was up. The cops were litterally (despite what the article says, I checked the court records) getting ready to toss her. Those 30 days were up, she was getting the boot.

Well, if Fannie Mae owns the mortgage, and they're the ones setting the old gal out in the street, it's really their choice to let her back in the house. They're out some filing fees, legal fees, etc., but what we haven't been told here are the exact arrangements made concerning her getting back into the house.

I'd be willing to be that she gets back in the house, but can't sell it or borrow money against it. Fannie is probably betting she'll pass on before she costs them enough money to outweigh the bad will/negative press generated by their foreclosing on her and her attempt at suicide. And then it will be their house to sell. i.e., they're probably giving her a life estate.
