The majority of my BPOs do not result in listings. Once in a while though I get lucky.
The BPO split should be negotiated with the broker. It seems steep to me, I would never have agreed to it. I would not mind chucking a little to the broker but we agreed that 100% on BPOs is good.
In my state I can get paid directly for my BPOs with Broker consent. Some companies pay me directly and other companies send it to the brokerage. I prefer to send it all to the brokerage to cut down on the number of W-2s I get each year, the broker prefers I get paid directly as it causes more work to process the check, then rewrite the check to me.
