I just got a REO that I can not tell. Electric is red tagged, and what I can see through a window that is cracked the place looks empty (no appliances either) minus a few items which may be trash. As I was getting ready to leave a cat came to the door. I have to complete the task by today (given today) in resnet. should I just mark it vacant? What do you do with pets?
Thanks

I don't think an abandoned pet is considered an occupant. If it was here (Michigan), I would cage the cat and take it to a local adoption agency that doesn't destroy the animals.

I agree with Cbarris. Rescue the cat. As far as resnet, tell them it was unoccupied X amount of times you checked and the electric was redtagged. They want you to guarantee something you cannot.

I second that. Rescue the cat.
