I've had a Palm Treo 650 and it just died (can't be charged anymore). I thought I'd like to try a Blackberry and picked up a Curve 8830, for its instant email notification capabilities. But alas, the frustration of changing phones is beginning to look like it's just too much. I have almost 500 phone numbers saved on my Treo, and I was just told in order to get them transferred onto the BB, I'll have to travel almost 60 miles to a service center for BB. Or I can transfer all the data to Outlook (which I don't use) and then transfer to the BB. The BB doesn't come with contact management software for the computer. I think I'm going back to Palm.

Has anyone else changed from one to the other? Was it worth the aggravation?

Did you try sending the entire contacts from Treo using bluetooth to the new curve?

Its possible. The other way is to attach all the contacts by email and send it over from treo and collect them on bb.

Sending through Bluetooth is my far the easiest.

It seems to me that every option that I'm presented with comes with a steep learning curve to learn yet another technology (I haven't mastered bluetooth even. Yesterday I spent most of the afternoon and into the evening trying to get the BB up and running with their tech support. Today, after hearing I would need to take the phone to a repair center to get my contact info transferred (50 miles east or 50 miles west), I packed up the BB and took it back. Had my new Treo up and running by the time I got home, had all my contacts installed within 5 minutes, and I feel infinitely happier than I have felt for the last 2 days. I like my touch screen much better than the trackball thingy, and the sound quality seems better than the old Treo 650. I need to explore my options for being able to get my email more quickly than by going online and logging into my email account. Hopefully there's a way. Reception from home was bad with either phone, so that hasn't changed.
