I am only posting this as i was cut off by a moderator yet another moderator made a comment after i was shut out, and i wanted to respond to the pinkfloyd comment by perky_realtor.

I owned pinkfloyd.org from 1997 to 2004, and no wipo didn't come after me as .org is allowed to be owned by the public as long as they don't sell say pinkfloyd t-shirts or music, but to create a mailing list or forum for other pinkfloyd fans was allowed.

WIPO did not come after me for that domain, but in 1997 when i had a site called cyber-girl.com, a site dedicated to popular internet women centerfold type of site, i chose gwen stefani to be my 1st 'cyber-girl' and posted a vivo video of 'don't speak' by no doubt in her lil'monthly centerfold type of site. Well within 2 days i got a letter from burbank, cali telling me to remove the video and gwen stefani from my site or be ready to be sued....

i also owned thedoors.org and shakespeare.net, even weird domains like 666.cg .cg is congo, joseph conrad eat your heart out. i have worked on getting domains like adnoc.com and gulfnews.com from squatters to their rightful owners. i ahve sold pbs wnet flagship of pbs 13.org and my most proudest moment for my mum, i got her groupseven.com

i know that you can't register certain names too, they are culturally driven to be politically correct, and i can't mention them here, but if you pm me i will divulge what they are.

domains are real estate too, virtual, but still of value, consider that business.com went for 350million usd in 2007!!

Open source is free software, no profit. I agree to some extent about open-realtor.com and that nar lawyers may ask me to stop the site. Some will say why waste anymore time. Sometimes you have to test it out, see where it takes you. Believe that my intent wasn't to profit off of the name realtor in any way. give me a better name for a website that is 'open source for realtors' than open-realtor.com

So there it is, i ask others out there what would be the ideal place for us realtors to publish these tools that empower us. it tooks months for me to figure out the synergy of these open source projects, as no one actually points the way out for you.

and in this climate of turmoil in our industry i think we have to get leaner and meaner, by cutting some of our IT costs, that is my case for open source.

apologies to the moderators that felt i am a nuisance to the forum and that my thread has no place in it.
