I've always wondered how the commission splits work with the big commercial brokerages such as Colliers,CB Richard Ellis,etc... These guys seem to work in teams and work with large international companies helping them buy and sell their properties. On a team, you see a "VP", an "office specialist", a "land specialist", etc... these big international commercial brokerages seem to pay for all signs, advertising, etc.. and their clients seem to have been their clients for a long time, but you see a bunch of smart young college grads as their agents.
Someone once told me that you get a 50/50 split, but that's all I know...not sure how that works if the client has been with the brokerage for a long time.
Anyone know how this all works?
