I was watching the show "Million Dollar Listing" on Bravo. For those who have seen it, is this anything close to your work day.

Love the show...

Chad is a real control freak!!

As a guy I can see his problems..

He needs acceptance from his father which he doesn't get.He acts cocky which really you can see he is insecure. He wants a close relationship with his girlfriend but is pushing her away with his controlling ways. The more he freaks and holds on tight the more he will push her away.

He has to realize it's not about anyone but him and he will need to change his ways and understand he can't control everything.

He has the absolute worst hair in history. That "mop" cut is ridiculous! Super realtor is spot-on with this guy. He's his own worst enemy.

Keep in mind that this is a TV show so "reality" is not quite real.

Everything thats aired was recorded back in 2006. I dunno why it took 2 years to show it.

Did you guys see this?

Report: 'Million Dollar Listing's Josh Flagg arrested for stealing art

By Christopher Rocchio, 08/04/2008

Josh Flagg has reportedly been accused of pilfering the homes of his clients.

The Million Dollar Listing second-season realtor and estate broker was arrested for allegedly stealing expensive pieces of art that were part of the estates he was handling, TMZ.com reported Friday.

He was subsequently released on $100,000 bail, according to TMZ.com, which added Bravo had no comment.

A 2004 Beverly Hills High School graduate, Flagg began working in "high-end residential real estate immediately," according to his Bravo-supplied bio.

In addition, Flagg is also billed as being known for "pampering his clientele" by sending chauffeured cars to his clients' homes and sending them up in helicopters to view properties.

OMG, I was thinking the same thing when I watched it. That Mop cut is hilarious. I was almost in tears when the hair dresser tried to tell him about it but he was adamant about keeping the style. It was nice to see that the hair dresser tried to change it a little to make it look different. Double funny when he stayed in the mirror at least 10 minutes after the stylist finished to change it back to the "mop" do.

The guy who looks like a young Ringo Starr is an embarassment to the word "realtor". He left a bad taste in my mouth. He's like school in July. (No class). Prime example of how money doesn't buy class.

- Did you see how he treated his grandmother when she told him he wouldn't get an inheritance as big as what he thought it would be.

- Did you see how he used profane language toward the other realtor when the buyer refused him access to the condo.

Oh by the way,

I spent like a month using MS Publisher to put together this corny 8 page listing presentation (booklet) since my broker will not put one together for the agents.

Anyway, as a new agent I'm surprised to see how fast they got Million dollar listings without showing so much as a marketing plan or powerpoint presentation.

I'm surprised that the owners of these multi-million dollar properties would list their homes with punk kids who look like they've barely completed high school.

I guess it's all in who you know...

definitely.

Its also about their track record. If you know your guy is a premier agent in the area and has handled millions in RE transactions why not go with them.

Madison was in this past year's 30 under 30. he seems a little dense to me, maybe its just the way he talks. i dunno.

Gotta hand it to Madison for working the gay-trust-fund-kid niche; I never thought of that one.

I'm hoping that the charges against Josh are false - guess we'll find out.

Chad is not my favorite - he requested me at myspaz so I added him. Later, when he did a bulletin about his new photos and said "leave me a comment!" I just had to delete him immediately. That was the most blatantly egotistic, self-serving thing I've ever read.

Keep in mind that the buyers and sellers would NOT have dealt with these idiot agents if they weren't given the opportunity to be on TV. They simply want their 15 minutes of fame with no regard for actual experience and professionalism. "Look at me... I'm a TV whore!"

If that bowl-head Chad came into my office I would laugh and send him on his way. As for the Ringo Starr wanna be with the terrorist inspired facial hair.. Josh, same thing if he came into my office with those hangover clothes on and hiding behind the sunglasses.

This TV "show" is a source of simple entertainment. They are all laughable and that's the reason I watch the show... for laughs. They don't impress me at all.

I loved it when Chad's stylist urged him to ditch the "mushroom cap." And then Chad asked for the hairspray...I don't think a gal on her way to a prom would have used more hairspray. I laughed my a$$ off!

All charges against Josh Flagg were dropped.
Chad needs to cut his hair...yesterday.
Madison needs to stop the B.S. He's into women, not men and it's apparent to almost everyone.
Josh Flagg.....he's adorable.

As much as I hate those guys. I still break my neck to see the show. Someone mentioned to me something about hard work and dedication and I don't think these guys are successful because of that. My wife is in investment banking (support) and I've been telling her for years to get a license because of the company she keeps, she finally did right before the summer and snagged a listing for a condo one of the bankers were selling. (1.1 mil)
I got a feeling it wont be the last one and her broker is real happy shes part of the team.
The condo-co-op market is on fire here in NY.

One of my clients watches the show, wanted to exclude a certain office from showing the property because of this show. One condo listing was only to be shown by certain brokers, and one of the million dollar listing babies wasn't allowed to show it to his client.

I convinced my client that what happens on this show is not condusive of the real world of RE and excluding a brokerage was not going to happen.

There's another post about this show.

If it weren't "real" people, I would have a lot to say about them on this forum. But, I hate to criticize publicly... so I'll just say I hope to never do business with guys like this... entertaining to watch though!!

OMG! WTF? Just kidding, this is an absolutely insane show. This is not reality, and these douche baags would make it 5 seconds in my local market. However I am like the rest, for some unknown reason I still watch it everytime I see it on. Anyways Bravo should gather up a few us for a real show " What its really like in a soft market" Just my 2c

That show is pretty funny.

There are agents who I refuse to show their listings. They are a PITA and I'm not dealing with them. One of them is a big shot REO agent. I know many agent's who won't show her listings.

I was waiting for someone to post a forum on this show. I love the helmet hair guy. His robotic voice amuses me. I must say I'm a bit envious. It takes me 10 deals to make what they make in one and my office is only located 25 minutes from their's. How does one break into the high end market?

Easy - "mommy and daddy" smile

The mushroom head grew up in "the colony", the other guy's grandmother feeds him all his business, and the other guy grew up there, too. I'm not saying they aren't reasonably good at what they do, but if mommy and daddy didn't place them where they are, they probably wouldn't be there...

Good for them, though - take advantage of every opening life gives you and do what you can with it.

A really nice black custom mercedes. In the last episode of the season he rented an Aston Martin to celebrate.

That is my mom's favorite car.Last night's season finally I thought was good.

The crazy part was Josh Flagg at the end having a buyer offer 30 million on a pocket listing he knew about to buil a 20,000 sq ft plus par tpad with it's own nightclub in it.Potential commission to Flagg 750,000.

About that 30mil deal. I think it was staged, I don't believe it happened. How convenient that it happened on the last show of the season. From what I understand, all this stuff took place in 2006, so they had plenty of time to see that deal through on the show, if it was an actual deal.

I can't stand that Josh guy, but seeing him with his granny in NY, makes me think that he'll probably be a super rich recluse when he gets older.

I agree with Man from the Band's post, they sure do know how to play the hand God dealt them, good for them.

I love this show. I think all 3 of these guys have pros and cons about them. I feel a bit of myself in each of them with their dedication and attitude. I also think Madison is probably the most professional one. He takes his career more seriously. These guys are real top agents too. Obviously most of their business has been handed to them by people within their SOI. I don't hate on them because I think each of them has some great traits.

They are all extremely lucky to have families that grew up around very rich people. They get to reap the rewards through their business. I would love to be in their positions.

********Anyway, as a new agent I'm surprised to see how fast they got Million dollar listings without showing so much as a marketing plan or powerpoint presentation.***********

considering the market where they are located, I don't think that they are emplored to do the end to end type thing like a powerpoint presentation. That's pretty subjective, seeing as how it's all about marketing yourself and how you will benefit that person if you should list their home. Plus where they are, I think it's all about "talking the right kind of talk"...you gotta remember they are dealing with high end real estate as their primary listings, whereas someone like myself would probably see a listing like that once in a VERY blue moon!

I have a lot of these listings and I don't do listing presentations. This market is all about how you branded yourself from the start and how well you network.

I have to say I'm really enjoying this show this season. In this weeks episode, Josh makes a deal that really shows what it takes to make a really great agent...imagination, persistence, hard work and a boat load of luck.

These guys are really getting down to the nuts and bolts of real estate deals in this down market. I adore this show!

I'm not a realtor, but I play one on TV.

I see it as scripted from real but embellished stories. Anyone else?

Yeah, that's kindof my take. My guess is the transaction happens, and then they go back and film the different scenes.

professionalism! i think the agents on the show lack that trait!

i have only seen a few episodes, but from what i have seen they are immature, crying little kids. have you seen that moron sit down for lunch with his grandmother asking her to make sure he is in the will?

seriously, i'm not saying they dont make a great living. they do.

i'm just saying that i hope no one EVER thinks that i will act like that when i show up for a listing presentation just because they saw that show.

Here is the "Million Dollar Question".
would you want that mop headed kid representing you based on what you know of him on the show?

my answer is no.

See I think it is all fake-highly embellished with actors to be more specific.

I don't read too much into the show. I get realism everyday I go to 1 or more commercial listing appointments.

I watch the shows to relax, get a chuckle, and drift away into nothingness.

I think watching Josh and his grandmother is funny! smile

With my DVR I power through all r.e. shows in about 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

I enjoy this show for entertainment only! Those boys are such prima donnas!
Don't you think it's time for a spin-off? REO agents across the nation and what they deal with? We had a discussion about that at one of our office meetings and it was hysterical! Trash- outs, CFKs and all those crazy investor wannabes that buy those infomercial programs!

Yeah, they can have a shot of me in a jump suit winterizing a property, because field services never showed up and I couldn't find anybody to do it on short notice.

maybe an episode where I send a plumber into a house to do some repairs and I pull up to the house and he's outside dry heaving because the stench is unbearable.

on second thought the show would be a bust people wouldn't believe it.

Funny-but a really good idea. Possible title: I.C.R.E.O.:Inner City Forclosures and the Agents who sell them.

The show is funnyy but I have to admit I do pick up on the fact that no matter what income or value level we work with. sellers are always over priced and buyers want a steal. I like how they negotiate from their cars back and forth. That was funny.

I don't get into the blacklisting agent game either. That would be an injustice to my buyer/seller. I will cringe though, when a "problem" agent turns in an offer.

As for the guys on the show: would it be an ethics violation to speak poorly about Realtor (c) agents in general, or about a specific agent while mentioning his/her name?

Honestly, that kind of behavior among agents is pretty widespread in my city.
