Hi All,
I have XML & RSS feeds from my website (two types):
1. One feed is homes available on a rent to own basis
2. The other feed are buyers looking for rent to own homes

How can I find places that will use our feeds (for free)? I already have them uploaded to Google Base and Oodle. Can anyone suggest where else?

FYI....I will gladly provide the feeds to anyone here who asks as well.

Regards,
Rob

this is kind of a technical question....

do you know if when people use your feeds... if your bandwidth is used.. or theirs?

Both I would think.

When I view a webpage that is using a feed for part of its content I can see that content in the page source - so that says that it is being parsed by the server and therefore using the bandwidth of the person using the feed.

The computer supplying the feed would also be using bandwidth to deliver that feed I would think.

To embed feed contents within your web page you need a php script. You can probably find the code you need by searching Google.

Here is one...

It just dawned on me that the answer I gave was probably not to the question you were asking:)

To make RSS feeds you can search Google as well for some great info. Below is one...

HomeRun and TrakerJphx,

There are several Syndicate Sites that will accept your feeds "Free of Charge", including Google Base, Trulia, Zillow, and FrontDoor (HGTV's site). The trick is getting the feed into the correct format (one size does not fit all) and meeting each one's submission requirements. If you have a small number of listings(around 20 or less) there are sites that will allow you to hand enter the information, saving you the the headaches trying to create the feeds yourself. For a large number of listings, I recommend the program found on our site: http://www.artis-usa.com/Products/RES/RESCorp.asp .

Best of Luck,

Graham

It is always a good idea to add your feeds to your myyahoo page to help get your site crawled. The technique has been around for a while but is still very effective.

Also here is a good list of rss aggregators that you can submit your feeds to:

I use Feedburner.com and feedblitz.com for most of my feed needs - they're both easy to setup and best of all free smile
