I loved the "wealth building Wednesday" series (link above) from KW. However, funny thing happened:
I used to be a fairly high producing agent at C 21 back around 2001 and earlier. I decided to return to my former career b/c I grew tired of working weekends. I recently decided to start selling RE again for lifestyle reasons (want flexible schedule), with the plan that I will limit weekend work to certain hours (e.g., from 2 or 3 to whenever on Saturdays).
Anyway, I listened to the WBW series on KW. I was pretty excited, even in this market, so I decided to call them instead of my former broker at C21, just to see what they had to say (in particular their team approach was something lacking at C21, which intrigued me).
So I called the KW office nearest me, psyched from the info on the website. The agent proceeded to tell me that now is a terrible time to enter the market, I probably wouldn't make any money, would have to spend lots of money, nobody attends open houses anymore (which is how I made a killing when I used to sell), etc. All BAD news. That slowed me down, for sure. A few weeks later I decided to call my former broker, we had lunch, he really wants me to come back to his office, we get along great, he was optimistic that market would turn around and at the very least I would be set and ready to POUNCE (!), etc.
Just funny that KW website inspired me, but KW agent was a real downer. :)
