Happy to note that my PR went up to a 3 from 2.

Also happy to note that my competitor's site went from a 4 to a 3.

I heard that over the past couple days a few people's PR went down, while other's went up. It's funny how fickle stuff like that can be. I'm still waiting for mine to jump one way or another. LOL

I thought it was interesting how my competitor's site, which as been a PR of 4 for ages, has gone down.

Well, interesting and FUN, for me! wink LOL

Do you remember how many months ago a large group of Realtors removed their links pages from their websites? Most were some of the most aggressive link traders and had lots of links. It takes Google a long, long time to reflect such changes and this would be causing a lot of the PR drop many are experiencing now.

If your PR dropped you may want to check on your link partners to see if they are indeed still your link partners...

Well, I have special circumstances - I created my competitor's site to begin with.

It is painful to be outdone by your own creation...

Congratulations on your PR going up. Keep on rocking. Have you ever used htt://www.SocialMarker.com to submit to social bookmarking sites. Can't wait til you're PR is 4.

Social Marker don't work as what I expected, that's why I stick with my manual submission.

PR is often overrated but an increase is definitely not a bad thing. Good job.

Home page stayed the same which I am okay with... our interior pages have increased which makes me really happy.

Congrats! How are you showing up for key words you have been targeting? I've got a PR of 2 on my main site, but show up quite well for the keywords I am after...

I find I can rank best for my different targeted terms if I build backlinks that contain the targeted anchor text in the link. If you build enough backlinks Google will see that you may be more relevant then your competitors for that specific keyword and move you up in the Google SERPS.

I find the same thing. I find a PR of 1 is quite easy to get if you have a few backlinks to the page that has unique content and a video or two. Now the challenge is to get above 1...
