I'm working on setting up the website for my small office in NC, and I'd like to provide tools to our users that they actually would find useful - I found a really good mortgage calculator at http://www.calculatemortgages.org - this is an obvious one though - what other useful tools do you usually put up on your site? (I like this calculator because it does taxes, pmi, home insurance *and* the mortgage payment - which i think gives a much more accurate picture!)

Make a custom google map of your area with key communities or areas of interest located on the map.

you need a google account to do it.

here's an example of one I use for my area.

I agree, google map API and amortization schedule are both very useful. Although you do need a fairly knowledgeable web programmer to apply the two.

Anyone can create a general google map and embed it in the website. A customized listing map would be more complicated and frankly a waste of time IMHO...

Why would a listing map be a waste of time?

Perky's referring to the customized one, why go for that when you can have Google map embedded in your website instead.
