Our MLSs require at least one photo to be uploaded within 48 Hours of Listing or be subject to an initial $75 Fine plus $10 for every day thereafter. Many people upload a photo of a sign saying "No Photo Available", or on New Construction put up "A Stick Drawing" just to satisfy the requirement. I like Fines; they keep our MLS Subscription Costs down !
On Land Listings, a picture of some trees usually works; or some grass. One blade looks just like the next. "Long Range Views" can be satisfied with a picture taken off a Travel Calendar. Sand at the Waterfront Listings can be generic also; like in an hour glass.
Some people are just motivated, out of principle, to get a head start on other Brokers in the MLS by these delaying tactics. Now that I think of it, every house I have sold had one of those fancy schmancy 90° corners (well, close to 90° anyway). With all the smoking and sniffing that the Carpenters do up here, it's a wonder anything is plumb or at 90° !
