A broker that is not responsive to you is not someone you can rely upon.
When you start out, go with a broker who really does offer good training. Many franchises do, as do many independent offices. But not all do. Every office, whether franchised or not, can be run differently. The attitude and policies of the office broker make all the difference in the world. So you have to find a broker you can trust who will give you great information and support. Talk to other agents in the office you consider joining and get some of the "inside scoop." Maybe 6-9 months down the road when you know ten times more about what you are doing, then you can look around to an office that meshes well with how you want to run your business, and that offers a commission arrangement that is satisfactory to you.

That's a really bad sign! If he can't close a deal with you how will he teach you to do well in the business? You might also find my list of 10 Things Your Broker Won't Tell You helpful in finding out what questions to ask & not be swayed by fancy marketing promises and bonus programs.
