I saw this on the news and thought I would share this. Alot of sellers are having trouble in this market, and this is a way to help. http://abcnews.go.com/video/playerIndex?id=4951156 It is about how 2 sellers can sell each others properties to each other. How to sell your home in this crazy market.

Thanks for sending this. This seems very interesting to say the least. Here in Minnesota, we honestly have not seen alot of house swapping taking place.

what are the chances of two families matching and willing to swap a home, considering housing value, size, and location match, interesting idea though

The IRS may have something to say about what can and cannot be "swapped".

Even a Primary Residence can qualify for a Like-for-Like Tax Free 1031 Exchange; provided they can meet all of the IRS conditions.

House swapping is not a SILVER BULLET to the housing industries problems. It's another small alternative that will work for a select few. At least there are options out there.

The best thing to do in these markets is don't sell in the first place!!

I have seen 10 homes expire in my neighborhood because they are going up against REO's at lower prices. I feel bad for the agents that took these properties. Either they were stupid or just were so desperate they would try anything to get a listing.

I would rather have nothing than a problem I know I can't do anything with. Waste of time, energy, and money!

I guess everyone else likens there business model to the RED CROSS, not me!
