I want to say work level up, prices for bpos up, but I can't. With more and more agents leaving the retail sales market, everyone is looking for ways to make a buck. I signed up with a few more BPO companies and was told that they have a flood of new agents in my area wanting work. Fighting for work leaves the BPO companies with more agents to choose from and lower wages to boot. My cousin went to Home Depot, Lowes, and Orchard and was told that they have way more applications than jobs available. He was told by the manager of Lowes that numerous applicants have real estate sales in their background. I am depressed so I am in a depression. Is America following my path towards depression?

The sky is not falling. 'round here, business is up and the outlook is rosy. It's all relative, and all about Darwinism. Or Capitalism. Take your pick.
May beat my previous record month by 21 orders and $900, so it works for me. In your area, you may need to rethink some things. Good luck.

I have been doing BPOs for several years and my volume is down this year from last year and my average price per order is down. It seems to be working out because I'm busier with listings, so I have less time for BPOs anyway, but if I were relying on only BPO income, I would be in trouble. This is simple economics 101- supply and demand.

In business (just like life) 'stuff' happens. It is really how we approach the situation that makes the difference. You could have a depressing situation and feel depressed OR you could have a depressing situation and choose to feel motivated and resolved to keep going on. The immediate situation doesn't change, but your chance of getting out of it quicker and on to better things is MUCH better when your attitude is in the right place. Reminds me of a quote... “Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan "press on" has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race” - Calvin Coolidge

My advice is to get REO listings.

Jae - Bravo! Thanks for reminding us of this wisdom.
Everyone else - note that Joe wants to get email addresses of your AMs with no real guarantee that you will get anything back. How do you know he will get to 200, or admit to it? Beware!

He's been cross posting in several areas and some not even related to REO. Typical newbie, wants somethin' for nothin' and wants it now and doesn't want to have to work for it.
Sorry Joe, but we're not fools on this board. If you keep up the cross posting and not staying on topic and continue to violate forum rules, you will get banned! (Some previous posts have been deleted for obvious reasons.)
Trust me I can make it happen! Consider yourself warned!

I think this little quiet period is a direct function of the past few weeks' activity in Washington and the Mortgagees watching closely to see if any serious bailout emerges; one which would encourage them to develop massive workout plans on the problem loans before processing more Complaints of Foreclosure.
Bush will probably veto the $300 Billion Mortgage Rescue Bill; but the Banks will have to assess whether there will be support in Congress to override . . . . after all, this is an Election Year ! So who knows how long it will take for the dust to settle ?
Personally, I will be glad when we get back to a traditional market . . . . if we ever do ? Regardless of when that occurs, I still consider these past two years of heightened BPO/REO activity to be just a passing phenomenon that will, along with its participants, ultimately wind up on the ash heap of history.

BPO GUY, if I were you, I would start calling REO agents and find out if they need any help. You may not get paid very much but its better than nothing and you also gain the experience you'll need to compete with the rest of the Agents vying for the REO business. Also, I hate to say it, but its not what you know anymore in this business, but who you know.
