I hope this is in the right thread. My question is I don't feel like I am getting the help from my Broker as a new agent. I will send her emails asking question's and will not get any response. Also It took my local Division of Real Estate 5 weeks to send me my license after I decided to affiliate with my Broker. During that 5 week period nobody called or emailed to get any update's from me. Am I expecting too much???

You may want to make sure your email's aren't getting stuck in your broker's spam mailbox by accident. Talk to her first and see if you can work things out, you need to be able communicate effectively with your broker.

If that fails, then you may want to start looking for a new brokerage. Remember to interview them, not the other way around.

I would think that during this time you are waiting for your license your office would be doing some training of you. Simple things such as how the MLS system where you are works. Contract software. Office procedures. Just the basic things, but then they should be teaching you about contracts. At least give you some older contracts to look over to see how it was done. You also shouldn't have to write e-mails to ask questions. Maybe she doesn't know how to check e-mail. Yes some brokers don't. My old broker didn't. The first office I was with did some really good training on everything. The 2nd office I was with had a little training, but no enough for new agents. I wasn't new then so I didn't care. Now that I own my own office I don't think I would hire an agent that is brand new. But if I would I would conduct classes for them.

If your broker is not responsive to direct inquiries via e-mail, then I would find another broker. However, I wouldn't expect them to prompt me to do almost anything either. In real estate you are in business for yourself, and basically you are hiring your broker to sign your paperwork. I look at it as though I am hiring them, not the other way around.
