Searching Google for 'scan to pdf' brings up a number of programs - have you tried those?

I have used deskpdf to create pdfs from files I have on my computer. It is under $20 and works great.
But it sounds like your real problem is not creating the pdf itself; it's getting a usable file off your scanner. Without more details on the exact glitch on that, it's hard to help. My scanner actually has a "document" setting which turns it straight into a pdf.

I have efax and in a pinch can fax to myself from a landline -and get a .pdf in my email. Otherwise - did your hp software not include the hp solution center? I have hp psc 300, deskjet 1400, and officejet pro 7500 series and it works with all of them - allows me to scan multiple pages into one doc and save as 1 of about 10 choices - one of them a pdf... You might be able to download the hp solution center software from their site. two of my printers are flatbed, so I have to feed the pages one at a time, but it asks me between each if I have any more pages in the doc. I also have pdf995 - so I can save pics, docs, whatever I could print to a pdf. It's a printer driver, so it's in your printer list and just pops up a save file screen instead of printing somewhere. Hope this helps, Good Luck!!

http://www.pdf995.comit's free if you don't mind an ad here or there - if you do guess what it's $9.95 and has lots of nice features and other programs avialable. I actually picked up that tidbit at the state Realtors conference and have been using it since '05. Man - they should pay me for the testimonial!!

I got a free PDF maker fron a google search, it shows up as doPDF v5. It is great at creating PDF files from MLS or Realist. Just don't use it while you are printing or it will dump. The files upload real good also. I go it from someone on this site.

I have downloaded cute pdf and also smart pdf, and I'm trying to figure out how to save pdfs of my completed bpo reports. When I hit print, save to pdf file, I get a file with an aspx extension, and when I try to open it, I get a question "Which program do you want to use to open this file?" Nothing on my computer will open this file extension. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? tia

It sounds as if your computer is not saving your bpo report as a pdf. I don't know much about Microsoft products, but from my understanding, files with aspx extensions contain markup language and would not be a pdf file.

For creating PDFs from files already on my computer (not scanning) I use PDF Creator - free from Sourceforge. http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfcreator/
