You may also be able to co-sign for your mother so she can get her own home loan. If she hasn't owned a home anytime during the past 3 years, she may be able to qualify for a 1st time buyer loan. She can also qualify for downpayment assistance. A local mortgage broker can discuss the various options. Once she gets older, you can look for retirement communities or a realtor that is a Seniors Real Estate Specialist. These agents have received a education by the National Association of REALTORS on issues related to retirees or seniors. Many specialize in this field. Here is the SRES website.

East Tennessee is a beautiful part of the south. Knoxville, where I practice real estate is bi-sected by Interstate's 75 & 40 so you have very easy access to most any part of the east coast. Temperate weather, no state income tax, friendly people, and lots of things to do. You and your mom can see what sort of houses we currently have for sale on my website, www.KnoxvilleMLS.com Being a veteran myself as well as a long time Realtor, I'm very experienced with VA loans.

Just across the border is a great place for any "mom". Hendersonville, NC is where I will be practicing real estate (next couple months - I will start) - it is a quaint place with an historic main street. check it out at www.historichendersonville.org check out my upcoming site - www.bockrealty.com good luck in your search

June is kind a short time span for me. But I could if you qualify have a home built any state you desire for no money down. If you can wait past June, email me. thethomasgroup@msn.com
P.S. Don't let anyone tell you it can't be done.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
