could someone help me understand how big commericial firms select their employees?
I got my license about 2 months ago and had interviews with CBRE and Marcus & Millichap. I had gone through 5 interviews with M&M only to turn down at the end. for CBRE, I had to interviewed with 2 people and was told to interview with managing director. i left the message 3 time to set up an intervie with him but i was never responded back.
I believe that i am well qualify to fit in to any commercial firm.
I've graduated from sacramento state university with Majored in Real EState. I have some sale experience. Plus, i speak Korean fluently, which can be utilized greatly when expand into new territory.
I know that i am just starting now but i know that there are big commercial companies out there looking for someone who is just starting off so that they can train and help them grow with the company.
I was bit frustated after M&M interview because during the interview, they seemed to be in a need of someone immediately but after everythin had gone through, they told me that time is slow and they don't think it's necessary to hire anyone at this time.
It makes me wonder why i wasn't hired. I know that i've gone through a lot to prepare for the interviews and i know that they are looking for someone who never had any experience in real estate yet.
Can any one tell me what it is that they are looking for when it comes to selecting new employees?
I amd 35 year old korean American living in sacramento CA.
It sometimes makes me think that it is very tough for another ethnicity to break into so called traditional boys club that many commercial companies have established among themselves.
I have desire so strong and have great passion for commercial real estate that if i can get a proper traing, i believe that i can help comany to increase their revenue.
so, is it because i am asian, or do they see that i am too old?
Look foreward to your response. thanks
