Effective today, April 1st, Wachovia has discontinued originating portfolio loans in 17 California counties located mostly in two areas known as The Central Valley and The Inland Empire, due mainly to declining values.

In So Cal, those affected counties are San Diego, San Bernardino, Riverside, and Kern.
