Thanks for the clarification Carey- but nonetheless there is no need to ridicule a person who has worked for (or owned) several different companies just because they want to do the same thing you are doing. We are all here for a common purpose (I think most of us are, at least).

I thought Maldune's comments were appropriate and interesting...

and on EXIT the name was chosen cause the word scores very high internationally in name recognition cause of all the "exit signs"..don't really get the connection either...
I do love my EXIT office though and I have a super broker..he's very innovative and real.and very supportive of my BPO/REO efforts..

The compensation factor for A2S agents is usually 1/4 of the commission for their listings or around $700. If the agent has a buyer then they usually get 50% of the commission. They do not keep agents long, its more of a training ground.

The compensation for your former office you mean.

As we all know, fees are negotiable and each franchise is independently owned and operated.

This isn't "their turf" and they had no right to rip your head off like that.

Im not on anyones side -- just saw his posts that hes trying to break into the REO business plus hes owned a bunch of franchises and now looking for REO advice in the BPO forums. Looks like maybe thats where REOgino and Sandollar came from. JUst an observation.

I don't read the REO BPO forums. REOgino and Sandollar need to learn some manners!

I don't see any information about the amount of time with each franchise; I think there is a minimum time period in each case that would probably amount to a total in years, not months.

The EXIT name always draws comments. Personally I would never carry that name because of the common connotation. While the company likes to promote the meaning as "safe passage" I think the general public sees it as "get the hell out" or "for emergency use only".

Maldune,

1. do you as an owner of the multiple franchises, notice a difference in the public perception of the brand?

2. do you think that business is harder or easier to come by do to the different names of brokerages that you have owned?

Estatereal,

1. The seller perception is always with the bigger brand. Remember they only sell every 5 to 8 years. They only remember what is out there. If Coldwell Banker is the biggest then they think it is the best. When you are at the listing table and you work with a reconized brand (Coldwell Banker/Remax/etc), you dont have to sell the company. If you work for your own company or a small franchise you must sell your company. Real estate is hard enough as it is. Currently you have to sell your company, yourself and your marketing plan, unless your dealing with a past client or someone from your sphere.

2. Have I lost some deals because of me moving around? Honestly, probably. Would I ever recommend someone working at as many agencies as I have, no absolutely not. However, I do know how each company works in great detail. I also know the mind set of each agent at these companies and I know their weak points.

Hope that all helps...

Maldune.... thanks a ton for your candor and insight. I like others don't understand the tone of the other 2 posters.... Amazing... I do have a question about Exit's pay structure.

Does Exit give 1099's or W2's? Do they give 1099 for direct sales and then W2 for "overide"? Is it all 1099 to the agents?

Thanks again Maldune...

TrueVisionary,

Funny you should ask. I just received my 1099-Misc forms today.

No problem.

Do you know what a winterization is? Do you even know what bpo stands for? Why does everyone think they can just jump into REO business? Most of us have no patience for guys like you! Maybe you should stick to retail properties where you can use all that knowledge competing on listing appointments. Seriously dude, there is no room for you in this business right now.

Somebody needs to seriously cut down on the coffee.
