I didn't know you do that to sellers, to each his own.
How about asking the the other agent for a referral fee? (I think it's only fair to let the person being referred know, that you will get paid for your referral)

Of course I would ask the other agent to pay me a referral fee. I have dealt with many referral agents before, so I know of some really good ones in many areas.

I don't want the buyer/seller to think that I would charge them for referring them to a good agent. I have actually had people ask me if I would charge them to refer them out to another agent. I refer for free and some people don't understand that.

Are you are using this forum to make money? It sure looks to me you are.
I believe to solicit referrals is ok in the Relo. section. If I'm wrong, please someone in authority on this board correct me.

Pikes, chill out. I told the original poster to contact me if he would like me to refer him to someone in the Myrtle Beach area. He even stated that he posted this request twice and nobody responded to him, so I figured I would try and help.

I have been a part of this board almost as long as you have. Most of my posts are actual contributions to this forum and its agents. I am not here to solicit. If someone comes along asking for help, I don't see anything wrong with offering them help.

How long anyone has been on this board I think is irrelevant.
You are soliciting! For money! If your referrals were given unselfishly without expecting compensation, I would understand.
Referral fees cost buyers and sellers money and should be disclosed up front to them.
As I mentioned, there also is a specific section for referrals.

Like I said, I was just trying to help someone that has asked for help multiple times with no responses. Now stop accusing me for trying to help and to be involved.

By the way, referral fees don't cost the buyer or seller any money at all. It would come from the agent. Makes no difference to the buyer or sellers pocket.

It may not cost the buyer or seller any additional money but there is no way they are going to receive the same level of service when their agent has to give 25% of their paycheck to someone who did nothing in the transaction.

I disagree. It keeps the agents commission artificially high by having to pay a referral fee.

Len if you want to do this set up a website and really get going with it there are agents as you know who would pay the referral fee to get the lead.

Obviously some of you guys don't accept referral leads. If you do accept referrals, are you saying that you don't give the referred client the same level of service? Wow.

Referrals I receive have no bearing on the quality of service provided to my clients.
