So I get 4 orders from Pro-Teck for desktop evals. $20 each, no site visit, 3 sold, 3 list. A 2 page form and upload the MLS sheet.
Having never done one of these before for Pro-Teck I accepted them. Now I may as well have driven my arse out to the site and done full drive by. Minus the pictures it was real close. So I had to ask myself? Is it worth it for $20? In the end I decided that, yes, it is. I didn't have to leave my couch, and it only took me about 40 minutes each....so total in about 3 hours I made $80. So, yes. But it sure was a PITA.
Is anyone else doing these?

I did couple in January. It wasn't bad at all. Still waiting for money though.

It's not worth it to me. There were a bunch of those available the other day and I ignored them all. They're basically a full BPO without the trip. I did one once and swore those off. Too much work for too little pay although you finished them quicker than I.
They also offer another little gem that pays $10 but it only takes 5 minutes and I'll snag them if I have nothing else going on.

Newton, I agree. I think they are testing these desktops out to see if the clients will be just as happy for 20 bucks as they were for 40 bucks with a couple of pics. Some BPO agents prefer these, it's worth it to them not to have to travel and take the pics.Unless they are currently listed in the MLS, I think they are harder to comp without seeing them.

I've done a couple of these, and if I were the lender, I would NOT be happy with the results. How can you get anything even close to accurate? One of mine was a 40-acre parcel with pond, updated house and barn. That would be difficult even with a full bpo. The results could have varied by as much as 100K....or more.

I told them I'd do them for $35. They never responded to me.

I did one for Pro-Teck yesterday for $20. I agree, it was hard to do as the subject was not in the MLS system anytime in the last 8 years. It is tough to do a great job on this when you don't know what it looks like or what the condition is. But, for 20 bucks, what can they really expect.

I picked up two the other day, just to see. One was currently listed so it wasn't bad, the other was not in the MLS and info couldn't be obtained from the assessor until next week (and the assessor charges $7.00). I relayed this info to my rep, and she rebroadcasted the order. Another agent quickly picked it up. Good luck to that agent.

I charge Pro-Teck the same as I do all the others (probably explains why I only get an occaisonal order from them).
