where coudl i find definitions for the different types of zoning..such as SHR2

i see them on titles all the time and having a hard time looking them up online...

It varies by town. Go to the town hall planning and zoning department to find out. I would guess that abbrevation means single family home residence with mininum of 2 acres.

Each city or county is different - Pull up the city website and click on the planning dept. Do a search on zoning and they will typically have a list of all zoning definitions. If it is not listed, call the planning dept. and ask for customer service. They will tell you over the phone.
